Is Petras the worst QB that ISU has ever faced?

Petras is awful but their entire offense is complete garbage and makes him look even worse. Linderbaum at least gave him a little protection for a couple years. Their offensive line is the worst I've seen since the first couple Ferentz years.

Their skill position players are even worse, Leshon Williams probably isn't even UNI level and their receivers are horrible.

The two best throws Petras has made the last 2 weeks and they bounced right off Bruce and LaPorta's chest.

What's that mean about the Iowa staff's feelings about Padilla? Their comment about if they thought he'd be better he'd be playing (paraphrasing) is a pretty big indictment. Gotta think he'll be surfing the NCAA website looking for the transfer paperwork this evening.

I heard somewhere earlier this week that Padilla is heading to medical school and is a really good student, doesn't care about playing time that much, just happy to have a full ride scholarship.

Why would anyone go play offense at Iowa? Their coaches are likely doing recruiting damage by keeping Petras out there. Shows they are so stubborn they don’t care about their offensive performance.
Right? What WR is signing up to play for that?

Hard to say. Iowa’s offense really marginalizes guys.

It’s embarrassing it was even a game. Pretty much the standard **** from ISU is this game. Whatever the staff does to get the team ready for this game needs to be purged
Agreed. Maybe finally getting this one exercises some demons but it shouldn't have been close. Routinely outgaining an opponent by over a hundred yards and losing (or barely winning like today) needs to get better.

They were ahead until way late in the game. No way Kirk and Son take him out then.
And after ISU scored to go ahead, it starts raining...no way they put a new QB in then either.
Maybe next week.

I'm not sure how you watch six quarters of your offense and don't make a change. Halftime was a perfect time to bring someone else in.

Agree...but the Ferentz Boys are a stubborn lot. As long as they're ahead ...no reason to make a change in their minds.

Honestly, Iowa's D was good. Not great. Dekkers made a couple of mistakes and Brock had an unlucky fumble. Yes. Iowa's special teams were better than ours.
Yeah agree, this is not a great Iowa defense...ok, but not what tgey have been

Every down is a bad position for Petras.
True, but at least 2nd and 1 leaves the possibility that the offensive line can get enough of a push for a ballcarrier to trip and fall over the line to gain on the table. 3rd and 5 is an automatic passing down for this offense, and that's the worst position for Petras to be in.
