Maybe during prayer, God put it on his heart for him to go to Baylor. Maybe his family got excited when he got the offer from a program close to home and pumped it up and the kid processed that into his decision. You never know. You are talking about 17-18 yr old kids. It is not a lack of integrity. These are life decisions these kids are making. You know programs put the hammer on these kids to commit to their school and make them feel the offer is only good if they commit then and there on the spot. "Commit now or this offer might not be there later." It is a lot of pressure and I can assure you most people on this board didn't stick to every commitment they had at 17-18; and, likely didn't have the same pressures placed on them like the game of recruiting. It is not like the kids is breaking one of God's commandments. Get real folks. I know it is frustrating and dissapointing; but, don't lock your bets or feelings on these kids until they sign the dotted line. Bring back early signing period if you want to stop the decommitments.
Welcome to Cyclone Fanatic Mr. Boyd.

Well then, its a shame God keeps changing his mind. Apparently just a couple months back God told him to Iowa State, and apparently God told him to lie and say he was committed for months, only then God changed his mind a week and half before Signing Day and told him to go live in that craphole town of Waco?

Or maybe its ridiculous and pathetic to try to blame a kid backing out of a commitment a week before signing day on God!

Religion and football, what a disgusting mix.

This is a heaping pile of *********. ISU honors it's commitments. We're not a ****ing Texas football program.

Except "Please, Lord, let none of my team, my opponents or the officials get seriously hurt today."

I don't give a damn about the opponents or the officials and to be honest, my hope is directed more towards the trainers to keep everyone healthy.

He does open doors in His time and not ours. God has sent people to much worse places. Like Ames is a destination city? Who knew. No blame to be cast upon anyone in this matter.

Aimes? You may need to use that prayer you speak of and hope it opens a door to spelling.

I said "seriously injured" and if you can't agree with that I feel sorry for you. If a competitive edge for you is more important than the life or quality of life of an opponent or official, then you need to seriously rethink your priorities.

Read Gary Thompson's biography for an idea of what sports and sportsmanship used to be all about. It was based on mutual respect.

I stopped reading after this sentence. God has better things to do than tell some random football player to play at that ********.

Not all decisions are related to football. There are other reasons for going somewhere. We are all special in His eyes and not some random this or that. The kid could go there and have his football career end before it starts; and, serve a whole other purpose than what the obvious, on the surface, reason presents. It was only an example provided for reasons people choose. Maybe the kid missed the call and chose based on his own desires. Either way, He sees us through it and works it out for the better.

Recruits change their mind all the time. The poster that ripped his christianity because of this is way out of place.

Now stop with the bible beating stuff.

Any god that tells a kid to go spend 4-5 years in waco, tx is not a very loving god.

What would you know about Ames?

And WWJD? Certainly not disparage a community of upstanding God-fearing people.

You should feel sorry for me then, because honestly I couldn't care less if someone gets injured from an opposing team.

Given the family member's posts it seems like Baylor School of Baptists is the perfect fit.

Nah, If he really listened to God he would be walking on to Auburn right now. Cam was just an instrument of God, didn't you know. God was also on their side if you listened to Gene.

Always knew you were a person made up of high character. This post makes me sick. You belong on the EIU boards.

Huh? I think he meant in the sense that injuries happen while playing football and cannot be avoided?
