Looking for a New Car

If I ha 30k and was looking for a car, I would look at a year old G, Maxima or Genesis. All are fantastic cars. My next car when I get rid of this SUV is going to be a G.
Buying a NEW car is a terrible investment. Too much mark-up, too fast of a depreciation. terrible. Buy a used car about 12-24 months old that still has Mfg Warranty. Ib

Some people just like new cars. It's their thing. Maybe you own thousands of DVDs. Some people think that's just as stupid.
Check into a used Audi. There are a lot of low mileage 2009 and 2010 A4s that Audi dumped into fleet sales when they weren't sold new. Also a lot of A4s a year or two old come up out of their USA corporate office in Detroit. A lot of these get auctioned; you won’t find them at Audi dealers since they would compete with the new A4s. We see a lot of them up here in the Twin Cities for sale by the independent brokers and on the VW lots.
I have an ’04 A4 with a 6-speed manual. The manuals are getting harder to find each year as the driving population continues its slide towards Zombie Driver Nation. Folks can’t handle a manual and text at the same time.
Oh, one last thing, get a blue one!
I currently drive a 6 speed and have had at least 7 or so manuals in my life but after owning a GTI with a DSG transmission I'd be fine to never own another manual in my life. Same gas mileage and faster shifting than humanly possible, I see no reason to shift myself. I autocrossed with the DSG and I'm positive I was faster with the DSG. I could down shift at any point and it would automatically down shift once I went below redline, on the other side I could hold a gear all the way to the rev limiter without it interfering. Super high performance cars like the Nissan GT-R, various Ferrari's, 1000hp Bugatti Veyron, etc. have all accepted this technology.
The only downside I could see is it's complexity and cost.

I saw the interior of a Lacrosse at an auto show and was very impressed. It looked better than the interior of some $80K cars (see BMW). It sounds like it competes very well with the Lexus ES350 for thousands less.
If you are going with an '09 A4, test drive multiple times to make sure you are o.k. with the transmission. They all have an annoying delay when starting from a complete stop (plenty of discussion on this if you search for it). Once they get up to speed they drive great.
A new car is a better investment than a house; the new car doesn't lose its value as quickly, the transaction costs on purchasing a car are a lot lower, and the taxes are lower on the car.
I'd say you're right on one of these 3 things (transaction costs). I assume you're talking about realtor costs.
If you buy a $200K house and a $200K car in cash I can't think of a scenario where you'd lose more money on the house.
It's almost guaranteed that you'll lose 20% of the value of your car within 1 year. Yes, some homes have lost that much in a year but history says this is very out of the norm.
My license fee per year is about 2% of my purchase price. My home taxes are lower than 2%. I also paid a 5% sales tax on my car.
Maybe I'm not thinking of something?
With all that said, about 1/2 the time I still buy new cars. If I kept cars longer I would almost always buy new but when you only keep them a couple of years it really does cost a lot to buy new.

Specifically I was looking at an 09 Audi with less than 25,000 miles on it, in Aruba Blue, just like the one you posted. But, I can't find one in that color! That don't make a newer one in that color other than the S4 which goes up past the 40,000 dollar mark. Any websites that have Audis? I can't find them and typically go to Audi.com and cars.com and Yahoo/MSN/AutoTrader.
All other suggestions have been great. I do like most of them, but it seems that they're huge! Maybe its just the pictures, but want a smaller 4 door, not to be picky haha.
I will have to probably lean towards a used to buy a higher end brand. But, still looking for some reason color is a big thing to me, I guess I'm thinking swirl marks.
The previous generation Jetta was a great car. The dsg transmission developed by Porsche is awesome with the tdi. Unfortunately, they really decontented the new Jetta, beam rear axle, drumb rear brakes, cheaper materials. I love the Audi Q5, but it's pricey.
Do any of you know about the upcoming VW Jetta GLI?
Also, the Jetta GTI is only 140 hp?
