We are at that point where we truly get to see what CPR is made of; his staff, his recruits, etc. We've seen flashes of high highs and low lows throughout the past three years, but IMO, year 4 is where things get cooking.

The last three years have mainly been defined by one monumental victory each year. When wins become commonplace for us, then we can start acting big, rather than dreaming big.

Yes.

Quality of life in Iowa >>>>>> Quality of life in Pittsburgh

Seriously....screw your head on straight and stop with the woe is me attitude.

If Rhoads leaves, we're Kansas again. There isn't a Mike Leach or Rich Rodriguez out there anymore either. Next year would be brutal in terms on money and attendance and we can't take losing players at ISU.

Also, if Rhoads were to leave, I would root so hard against wherever he went in every aspect of the game. I feel bad about that but I am one vindictive son of a *****. We aren't the ones who have talked about this being his dream. He has done that. We aren't the ones talking about B12 championships. He has done that. I don't think he's leaving but if he does, we are in some kind of trouble.

Pitt-Post Gazette seems to be cooling on Rhoads speculation...

Coming Into Focus a Bit - Friday Morning

To the meat of the article for everyone:

I'm also told that Paul Rhoads will at least listen to Pitt this time but at the end of the day he is more than likely going to stay put. That doesn't mean he won't come, these things are always subject to change, but it sounds like he still has some work to do and he isn't quite ready to leave Iowa State. It should be interesting to see how this plays out.

I am disappointed at this point with Rhoads no matter what happens. A firm "not interested" should come from someone who is all in. Good luck to him preaching the all in to players and fans when even he is sniffing around.

I disagree. I don't think it will have any effect

I'm not worried until the big boys come calling. How long do you think it will take for Urban to call it quits again or when is Pelini going to finally go over the edge and Woody Hayes someone? That's how we lost Bruce.

And Earle Bruce said he NEVER should have left.

Johnny Orr understands what ISU is all about. He is still loved.

Everything read in print or on the internet is TRUE....never forget that.

CPR is safe and sound in Ames. He may have a short conversation with Pitt to tell them he isn't interested out of respect for their program since he was there for awhile. I see nothing wrong with that and some of you are big time chicken littles.

Even that article should make it CLEAR to everyone that Paul isn't going to just stay here, just to stay here. He needs to be paid! 2+ Million a year or he's gone.

Not me...we dont' even know what is going on in CPR's world right now so how could one be so judgmental? But IF he is using his success as a negotiation tool to get a better contract at ISU or wherever...good for him! It is reality!
