campbell is playing a lot of players i think we take a big step forward this week to get things tightened up. wr blocking is one of the keys to the game next week thats where we need huge improvement.

Offense really needs to figure some stuff out. Too many times they had the start of a good drive and then get stuffed on 1st and 2nd down and get into 3rd and long. Also, way too many FGs today. Glad he made them all, but most were from pretty close, and should have been TDs, which would have beat the spread.

Not really sure what they can do about the OL. Down one starter probably didn't help a lot today. Number 9 was in the ISU backfield all freaking day. Akron's defense looked like a unit that had 8 returning starters today.

give it time campbell is getting all the pieces in place. development is happening everywhere a perfect example is our special teams today. saw some rbs other than montgomery. saw more tips than we have had all season. things are coming together for a run at a bowl game. just have to see big improvement and we will.

I get that ISU desperately needs some player development in the reserve ranks, and agree that it will pay off later in the year when guys get dinged or tired. Just seemed like there was a lot of odd subbing in critical situations. Guess guys are be tested under pressure.

How many subs were there on the OL today?

i like the attitude oh u fumble right back out there instead of oh u fumble to the bench! wr blocking was atrocious at times that is the key along with ol run blocking to win next week. dont sleep on brock purdy he will help us down the road this year.

Any of the 3 qbs are good enough to lead this team. Unfortunately, they are all 3 going to be hindered unless this OL gets fixed. Unfortunately, I don’t see it. I’m also concerned or OL problems this year arent all on the players.

Why is the mic set up so bad in the press conference room in 2018. Can't hear the questions asked, the coach's mic goes in and out. Figure it out Iowa State.

Amateur you tube channels do a better job with their sound recording then this crap.

Embarrassed by a good share of the posters on here today. Good win against a decent, physical team. Hopefully we stand a chance against TCU, a team more like Oklahoma in style than Akron. Offensive line is the worry any reasonable person knew it would be at the start of the season. Montgomery was dinged up early in the game, I'm sure something caused Zeb to have to leave for a few plays but somehow many of you assume the coaches are incompetent in spite of their track record. A lot of vocal geniuses on here today.

I want to use this post as a perfect springboard back to my original post in this thread that I took a little heat for. I want to emphasize, in no way do I not like this staff. In no way do I think they are incompetent or should be fired. My post was directed at the post I quoted and how idiotic it is to think a coach and team would come out, willing to lose, only to keep secrets against the rest of the conference.

ThIs was a good win against a decent team. Yes, we need to improve in areas, but we are short one game so far and we still won. They beat Northwestern and Nebraska is lucky the game was cancelled.

Just a wild ass guess, but I think the Purdy appearance may signal that he’s the back up next week and Campbell didn’t want his first snaps to come in that situation.

CMC post game said they were going to get him snaps and in the red zone zips were stacking
the box and thought Purdy gave an extra set of legs with the elite passing.

CMC has a plan for just about everything - same with DM and his subbing.

Not sure if posted but FSN's TV cart broke and couldn't move on its own down the sideline. It was entertaining watching 2 guys push it back and forth.

It’s no different than last year when we had Manning...well, other than starting a freshman and a walkon today.
