Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel it would be easier to teach/improve defense on an offensively minded player than it is to teach/improve offense on a defensively minded player.
Oh yeah, I’d say that’s true for sure.
Teaching what to do might not be that different, but being able to do the skill things needed on offense probably isn’t changing much in-season.
In regards to our bigs this year, they will get better quickly in the defensive end. But I don’t think any of these guys have the lateral quickness that Rob or Ward had, at least I don’t think they do. It doesn’t mean they are bad on D, it just might limit how much switching they do.
Rob and Ward’s ability to switch and stay in front of guards let TJ do a ton of things defensively. Not sure he’ll want to do as much switching and get Jackson matched with guards too much.
