Kind of reminds me of last years football season. All the debbie downers jumping ship after losing to a team that beats us regularly. You'll be back, but in the meantime... sssshhh..there..there

What are you talking about? Losses like this have been the NORM for the last 10 years.

'That' team is a division one football team that is actually pretty damn solid, if you're talking about Iowa. This is ******* UNI. HUGE difference.

I am happy that you have some wicked good cardinal Koolaid you are drinking but I don't have any. To say this was much better than Drake just isn't true. If you aren't "there" yet the very least that should be expected is to play incredibly hard. If you make mistakes cause you are playing your *** off, fine, I can live with that but these guys don't play with maximum effort. I can't excuse lack of effort and laziness.

Not Kool-aid, rationality. You should try some of that sometime. It's good for you.

Honestly, effort was much better tonight than it has been in the past, and the defense played well enough. Clearly it's not perfect, but it was good enough to win. The biggest problem with tonight was shot selection and making said shots. This team played well enough on the defensive side. Make no mistake, we gave up a lot of easy buckets, but I'd say about 60% of those were due to UNI's passing and scheming. Give the credit to UNI and don't bash ISU for those.

We can get better and we will, just give it more than 1 month of play against competition, that's all I'm saying. This loss sucks, but it's not the end of the world.

This. Shots weren't falling tonight.

Do you know anything about the game of basketball?

Seriously... to all of those out there that think if we just would have shot better we would have won.... get a grip on reality.

Do you ever think that there's a reason we didn't shoot well? And there's a reason why UNI did? Hmmmm... I wonder why that might be? Maybe because all of their shots were WIDE open looks.... and ours were basically all with a guy right on us with a hand in our face.

So, no, it's not just a matter of us saying "if we only would have shot better....". STOP IT! In order to shoot well, you have to get open looks. We don't know how to get any open looks at all. UNI does. UNI passes the ball and moves it around quickly inside and out. They get open looks. We don't. That is why we shot the ball poorly and they shot it well. Pretty simple.

And please STOP IT with saying how much more talented we are. Really? Because I thought UNI looked a LOT more talented than us. We're playing the game of basketball here folks. It's not a dunk contest. UNI is WAY more talented than us. Talent is not equal to athleticism. Talent is playing basketball the right way. Passing well, defending well, shooting well, moving without the ball well, hustling, etc. UNI is more talented than us at all that. Sucks to say it, but it's true. Time for everyone on here to deal with it. We got beat by the FAR better team tonight.... period!!!

like after the Drake game, the biggest thing is how different last years team is to this years...last years team exceeded expectations with minimal talent and play 120%...even when we got killed I never really got mad.

This year is the opposite, team looks like they would rather be getting ready for finals then play basketball...besides Royce and Bubu nobody showed emotion or hustled...

Allen- really? Get your head out of your *** and take smart shots, it wasn't Chris Allen vs UNI tonight...it's ok to be patient.

SC- I like your work ethic...but can't you learn to play a little defense?

Ejim- Be smarter, huge dissapointment tonight.

Booker- not horrible, but needs to be smarter an forget about previous plays.

Imagine if Floyd or Eustachy were the coaches...ya I would be ******* my pants if I was on the team right now.

Sounds good...we must be watching different games. You keep your rationality, I'll keep me realism. Hopefully we end up in the same place at some point in the future but for now I guess we have to agree to disagree.

Jump shooting teams that rely on 3 pointers generally lose when they shoot like they did tonight. To overcome this, we will need someone to go Kenny Pratt style at the end of games and throw up garbage to either get buckets or get to the foul line (and make them)...make a higher percentage of the 3's and we win and if you are off like they were tonight we need a get to the foul line strategy since our post game is limited - its really that simple and I didn't watch the game.

Time for the staff to coach like college coaches instead of NBA coaches. This is not a one-on-one game with little defense required. All college coaches worth their salt concentrate on defense in the preseason, to the extent that the offense is an afterthought. Both Floyd and LE said that they typically didn't focus on the offense side of the ball until the 2nd week of December. This group looks like they have never been asked to play sustained defense in their life. IMO, the loss of Bobby Lutz is huge. Play good defense and there is no need to panic on offense.

hmmmm...giant hype machine. nobody plays defense. We can't set a pick, or defend one. Why does Royce insist on going one on one on ever play. He's 6"5 and he will get killed by the post players in the big 12. He's a 4. Put Railey or Gibson in at the post. God we suck. Thanks Fred.

I bet GMAC was texting high fives to Jacobson during this debacle.

Clonedude is right, we got beat at almost every aspect of the game tonight. Defense wins games and having an inside presence to open the outside shot that is not defended. Hustle, moving without the ball rebounding. Sorry the coaching is bad right now.

We will be the boot lickers of the Big XII . . take it to the bank.

Really? Very bottom? Worse than Texas Tech. The team that lost to Indiana St. and DePaul? Do you want to make a wager on that? I'm not a betting man, but I'd be more than willing to put something on that. We won't finish last in the Big 12. No chance. You sir, are acting like a fool. Stop, just stop now.

Whatever, this team sucks and the coaches are not getting through to these guys. I'd like to see Allen and Booker SIT ON THE FWORD BENCH!

This is what I don't understand.....

PLAYER A from small town Iowa and is a Fresh or Soph: Starts and is an outstanding player for UNI, Creighton etc...

IF Same PLAYER A goes to ISU he sits the bench and doesn't do anything for a couple years.....May or may not turn into anything,,,,,,,

YET.......
PLAYER A is the one killing us when we play UNI.

chris allen needs to become a team player, all year he plays for himself and shoots with guys in his face everytime. Not the reason we loss but it would sure help.

Texas Tech fan replies: Really? Very bottom? You mean worst than ISU who lost to Drake? We won't finish below them.

1) Absolutely no heart on this team. If this team played as hard as last year's team we would be undefeated.

2) Great job recruiting Fred.... did you forget to coach them when they got here? Absolutely no structure to this team. It's like he shoves them out there and says play. We need to change things up on offense. If we don't have a point guard lets do a pick and roll with Royce to get the offense going.

3) This team was told they are good all summer and it shows. It's like they feel they are entitled to win. They come up the floor and jack threes with people right in their face like they're already in the NBA (Allen).

4) Our fans don't deserve this.

We could have easily won with better defense tonight, plain and simple. We could have shot the same percentage and probably won with better D. Except I'm almost certain if we would have played better D, it would have translated to offense. Too many post moves by guys who should have no ******* business doing that to any of our post players. A few too many wide open 3 pointers, etc.

Yeah, UNI is a really good team, but we could have EASILY won this game tonight.
