I just think we've had a lot of naïve folks around here lately. End of the day, the committee members are humans using judgement to figure this all out. Doesn't matter what's on the "team sheet' or not, or what the stated metrics and criteria are.

They didn't like the big 12 as much as the metrics did. I tired to suggest the big 12 is "overrated", while still being the best conference and people told me I was a moron.

Anyway, seed doesn't matter, you have to play great teams regardless.

Go cyclones

8 would have been the peak for the Big 12 with Tech and OU not doing enough to start and then OSU had some bad losses early on--that's it.

I can agree about the 'overrated' deal in that being from the conference isn't a free pass to just win.

ISU's first game will be tough no matter who it is or what conference they play in.

They've yet to beat a P6 tourney team outside the B12.

Iowa with their back against the wall will come out and put out a good game.

Without much pressure/expectations, I think Iowa opens the game with one of their ‘flurry of made three’s’. Auburn is unable to answer and plays catchup all game.

Because you only have 10 teams?

Btw while I agree the Big12 is the best conference by far in cbb you all sound like SEC football schools who claim that because the conference is so good everyone of there losses is a good loss and thus just about every team should be ranked.

The difference between football and basketball is that there are a lot more data points out of conference to show who the best teams are. When even our worst team can blow out the overall #1 seed, its a lot easier to make the 'no bad losses' case.

Been saying it on here for a couple of weeks, how in the heck does the #1 ranked conference by every metric get fewer teams in than the SEC and the B10? I thought the rankings matter, if that is what the numbers say, then Ok. State and even TT belonged in before some of the lower ranked NET teams from the B10 and SEC.
Uh, because they have 14 teams and the Big 12 has 10.

Yes. Likely against Texas. Iowa State, Drake and Iowa would all play in KC if they got to the Sweet 16.
That would be interesting. Texas' 250 fans would be there, Drakes 2,500 fans would be there and ISU and Iowa would have like 20K each. KC would need to order a little more beer.

Can we please make it to a Kc regional?

I feel like we’ve gotten placed in KC every time and I get so damn excited thinking about the possibility.

So they'll do better this year because they're coming in after losses to Nebraska and Ohio State? Hmmm...

Yeah how the season finished means automatic carryover to the next week, amirite?
