I have a an friend that is a big Iowa fan. I don't discuss sports with her because I know I am a poor sport and I hope they lose every week. She, on the other hand, claims to cheer for Iowa State 'except when they are playing Iowa' but makes snide Iowa State comments all of the time. Last night she posted about how great their 17-12 win against ******* Northwestern was and then said that she noticed that another team wore their colors last night.

This behavior is ingrained in them. They don't notice it and then can't believe we don't cheer for the HAWKS! Being an arrogant ass to ISU fans is an integral part of the vast majority of Iowa fan's identities.

Agree with 1. With 2, it was kind of feast or famine for them. Robinson was either getting 8 yards or no yards. Get yourself in a second an King against a stingy defense and you almost have to pass.

Yeah, we weren't bad against the run. But it seemed like early in the game, they could have ran it a bit more. Neither quarterback was passing it well.

For sure and she's arrogant about it. The comment that drives me nuts is that when the Iowa/Iowa State game comes up she always says is worried about the game. Stupid Iowa has won 6 straight. Don't be ******* worried about the game.

Non-game related: Is it too hard for people to leave their politics at home when they come to the game? Who the hell thinks it's cool to start political chants and/or bring political signage to their favorite team's football game? My school is not home to your rally.

Anyway, the crowd was great last night, and it was a picture perfect day in Ames.

I heard a few lame attempts in the section over. Died pretty quick. Saw another lady waving her flag like they had just won the election. It was mostly during the 2nd quarter and halftime, when the game was unappealing.

I'm just baffled that someone, an adult, thinks to themselves: "I'll bring my Let's Go Brandon flag to the football game. Won't that be cool and very funny, hun?" It's their whole identity. Lame as hell.

The only thing good about fans like that are, when we lose just reading their misery makes me feel good by comparison. I can't imagine how miserable their lives must be. I feel sorry for them.
I have made some pretty good use of the ignore button.

One other thing. Does every team get a police escort AFTER the game all the way to Des Moines? I was on Hwy 69 outside of Huxley and all of a sudden there were lots of police cars and I was wondering if there was an accident. Nope, they were just blocking the 4 way stop sign for 6 busses to not have to stop.

Yes.

When we are on road games we get a police escort every where too

I can say with zero equivocating that I said Sark was a terrible hire. He has been mediocre to bad at all stops. Running a good offense at Alabama when you have the opponent completely outmanned doesn’t mean a thing. Herman might not have been good enough for them, and he’s a real piece of work, but he is a far better coach than Sark.

Being primarily an Atlanta Falcons fan, I have personal experience watching Sark run a finely tuned offense into the ground post Super Bowl (choke). I don't care if he spent a few years under Saban. Does anyone really think Saban was letting him do all that much?

Watching the game agains this morning. Suprised just how much ISU dominated them physically. We just pummeled them on both sides. Doesn’t happen much against Texas, even when they’re bad they usually have some freaks we struggle with.

The Saban rehab tour is comical.
No crap guys can go there and win. Saban gets the best players and he forces them to buy into his system/culture. How often do you hear about off the field stuff at Alabama? Almost never.
Texas would have been smart to get a guy who’s actually built a program somewhere. They keep getting the hot name who’s only won at places with built in advantages.

Sark wasn’t even a hot name for that. People were expecting a Kiffin FIU job as his re entry into the head coaching tier

Alabama football is a cult. Not hearing about off field issues doesn't mean it's a clean program.

I think Saban mostly let’s his OCs call the plays. It’s mot like Meyer at OSU. But also, it’s not hard to call plays when almost every position has a future NFL player.
