Ask any student what VEISHEA is and they will all say "It's a week long party". ISU students brag about it to other college students, and share insane stories of drunken adventures and shenanigans.

I challenge you to find a single student (outside of the VEISHEA committee) that will say it's a week long celebration of the colleges, or even brings up the parade/charities/5k/pie eating/etc. The problem is in the culture, and that cannot be fixed overnight.

goddamnit. Right decision, but it hurts to hear. I have been on a co-op all semester and VEISHEA was going to be my weekend to come down and celebrate with my friends. Now it's just going to be an empty shell.

Not at all surprised. Will be interesting to hear what the decision on VEISHEA is moving forward. I got the feeling listening to Leath that if it was his decision right now, it would be canceled indefinitely.
