Thank you. I’m super optimistic we are going to keep everything rolling. We just can’t get complacent (administration, fans, coaches, etc.) Appreciate the discussion and always try to be as transparent as possible with this new world.
You have done a fantastic job. Greatly appreciate what you and your wife have done. ISU is very fortunate to have you. I know it’s a tough job.

Brent, just asking for a friend.... by chance do you have the Sukup family or The Albuagh family on speed dial?
Both have been very supportive. That said the biggest donors also want to make sure they aren’t doing it alone and that all fans are chipping in as much as possible. Appreciate you all.

I don’t live in Iowa, so can’t make it to the games. My disposable income is spent on Ames Lager and We Will reoccurring donations… with that being said I can probably make another donation today given I spend zero money on tickets… that plus my two year old just literally ran off the couch without noticing somehow, so his college fund probably doesn’t need as much as I thought it did lol.

That’s the way to do it! I had a buddy who just passed late Fall, Tom Buch. He lived in Colorado, could only go to a few games, so his donation money went to WeWill. He was very passionate about the need to support WeWill. I have an RV pass, so most of mine goes to the Cyclone Club and FB tickets. Out of staters can really make a difference in the quality of athletics at ISU through WeWill.

Tom was such a great supporter and nice man. Give my best to his family.

I don’t mean to be causing a panic alarm, but it’s simple economics. We have guys on the basketball (and football) teams being offered double salaries by B1G and SEC schools. You can say it’s illegal and all the like, but it’s happening. So we either give up or try to raise more money. The portal opens for basketball end of March and for Football in early April. Both head coaches feel a direct correlation with winning and our ability to keep players. We are hundreds of thousands of dollars behind on our priority folks. Will they stay for a discount and the good of the whole? I hope so! Otherwise, let’s do all we can to keep them here.

Not trying to be an ass here, but tell them to go do what NIL was meant to be - Cash in on their name, image and likeness in the advertising/marketing world and get businesses to endorse them.

If that isn't good enough and they want more money that we can't pay them, well then they can go be the next Tyrese Hunter, Craig McDonald, Isheem Young and Tyler Oydium.

I know it's your job, but the entire "Collective" model isn't NIL, it's a loop hole side effect to just pay players for being there.

I hear you. But that’s not what this has turned into. Businesses can certainly help as well in that space. It all goes together.

LOL!

@Brent, please do NOT say this to any of our players or recruits.

Age old topic curt. It changed the first weekend the Supreme Ciurt ruled in favor of the athletes. Friends of UT started an NIL for the benefit of only offensive lineman and raised $10 million.

What is your intent of rehashing the same.old topic?

It is what it is.

Yeah, this is the frustrating reality of it for me. This is not what this was supposed to be. They were supposed to be able to monetize there fame. This should have been things like Olivia Dunne being able to monetize her social media following as an influencer, or someone recognizable like Caitlyn Clark snagging a State Farm TV campaign deal.

This was never supposed to be hey fans, you need to pony up $150k next year to retain our free safety, because Missisppi State is going to offer them $200k+ and they may jump at it. That isn't name, image, and likeness. Most of these players aren't even recognizable to their own fanbase, let alone nationally. Their name and image is worth a fraction of what they are now receiving in "NIL".

Jefferson is extremely underrated by this fanbase. 6'9" extremely skilled power forwards don't grow on trees. The guy could get an enormous payday for his final year.

Lipsey will be a top 3 PG in the country next year.

Milan is a bit of a unicorn. You dont find 6'9" swingmen that shoot 40%+ from 3.

Blum's point is direct. TJ WANTS to stay forever. The guy is the ultimate competitor though. If he cant win at the highest level due to factors outside of his control we should not be so naive as to think his loyalty to Iowa State is so strong he would never consider leaving. We need to provide the $ to keep the vultures away.

In hindsight, The administrators of the ISUs, KSUs, etc. should have been promoting a liveable wage program that we could compete in. The NIL thing just exacerbates our secondary position.
