No. And Custer is >> than Gessell too IMO.
I like Custer, but I do not see him being as good as Gessell, at least the next two/three years. Definitely not >>.
They were basically viewed the same as recruits (Gessell a 4-star, #100), but Gessell would be an upperclassmen with experience and is a little bigger and more athletic. He may have a bit better outside shot. Hopefully Custer is better at creating. Both would/will be a lot better under Fred.

You aren't taking in to consideration the uniform factor.
