The only thing I hope is that a bunch of fans don't leave at halftime or if Texas scores right away after half. ISU has comeback in so many games where we were down not only this year but last year. i.e. Nebraska going up 2 TD's on us last year and I remember a bunch of people start to leave the game. Everyone thought they were unbeatable with the way they played coming into the game. If you don't remember they beat a Missouri team the week before they played us and Missouri was ranked 7th due to knocking off Oklahoma.

Hopefully this makes sense. All I hope is that Jack keeps on rockin' even if we go down a few scores.

If the penalties are relatively even and we don't list the turnover battle - ISU 27 Tex 23
If we lose both of those battles - Tex 31 ISU 17

U think that skinny freshman qb will put up 38 points against a wally burnham coached defense? Interesting.

I agree, UCLA is a horrible team that couldn't tackle and played very soft. Mini
Colt is not close to his bro. He cracks and so does Ash. ISU 35 - 17
Go Clones!!! Beat the Shorthorns...

If we can get pressure on either of those young QBs early, I think we can throw them off their game. I think this will be another come-from-behind victory and another game that goes to the wire. I don't think Texa$ has improved a whole lot from last year, but they'll show a little more bite this time around.

ISU 21 - Texa$ 17

Should be a fun one to watch, though I might have to watch it on mute if Gus Johnson is calling the game.

I suspect we'll use a defense similar to what we did with Iowa. Load the box by cheating up a safety and run blitz. Stack the other safety over Shipley (like we did on McNutt) to take away McCoy's go to receiver. If we can get up a score or two early and try to force McCoy/Ash to beat us with their arm we should be in great shape, but I don't like our chances if we give us an early lead. Texas (like ISU) has been a second half team this year and has really played well in the 3rd quarter. Given all that, here's my prediction:

After building a lead in the first half, ISU turns the ball over 3 times in the second half, but the cyclone D holds the horns and they have to settle for 3 redzone FGs.

We win 27-23.
Iowa State wins the Cy-Horn battle 2 years straight.

I'm actually more confident about this game than UConn. It will be another nail bitter into the 4th quarter.

im not sure why people are more afraid of case than gilbert.

gilbert beat him out. then he got injured. big deal if case lit up UCLA. if i have to eat crow, i certainly will. but i will believe texas is for real if and when they come up here and run the football with their suspect offensive line, freshman RB, new offensive coordinator and rookie QB. They have speed i hear, but they are not the texas of old. they are a mid-pack big 12 team, and we are good enough to beat them at home.

they also only beat BYU by a few and then BYU got drubbed on their own field the next week to rival Utah.

I will predict ISU wins 27-21. I think we have issues of our own to work out.

We can't turn the ball over more than once or twice.
Clean up the penalties
Pressure their QB and force texas into throwing situations.

Unwarranted cheap shot at Gus, he is awesome and exciting.

My prediction is both teams come out and play very well. ISU D takes advantage of the noise and good guys win 27-21.

Bottom line in this game is the offense has to play well. Defensively I think ISU matches up ok. If we have ten penalties and turn the ball over twice, we're going to lose. If we cut down on the penalties and take care of the ball, it will be a four quarter game. The x-factors for both teams are the QBs.

There until the very end I thought you were talking about the Iowa game.
