Barnett has played 2 games this year. One good and one bad.

Shut the **** up you morons.

I'm mad we lost too but good grief.

You stfu. Did you even watch the game? D keeps us in it and job pisses it down his leg. He was absolutely horrible. 16 for 36? Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn pathetic.

Jantz is unlikely to play again unless jb gets hurt. He won us some games and he had his shot. Jb is the qb now and I believe will help the team win another 4 games

Yeah, there is no turning back after you make that switch. JB is going to be the QB unless he gets hurt. 16 for 36 isn't going to beat anyone though. He has to be more productive.

Fortuantely we have some horrible defenses coming up that should make him look a little better....I hope. Going to take 35 points to beat Baylor and OSU. Maybe more.

Umm, he hit the broad side of several barns. And several barns dropped it. Even Lentz had alligator arms on a couple.

Barnett will rarely lose you a games but will never win you one. Jantz will often win you games but just as often lose one. Pick your poison.

I don't feel like looking it up, but Barnett had very similar numbers to Jantz last year, including turnovers/interceptions. I think he needs to play, but unfortunately, he is not the answer, either. His throws today were ridiculous. I thought he was going to crap his pants on that last series. His throws last week weren't pretty, but got the job done. We have a good record with him, but it's a head scratcher to me. I think he reads the defense better than Jantz, especially the zone read, but we need better than him in order to get to the next level.

You clearly didn't watch the game because if you did then you would have seen the inability of the defense to stop them on 3rd down

Yes, the receivers dropped several passes, but I believe that is more of a QB issue than WR issue. For the most part the passes dropped were poorly thrown balls; either out of the receivers zone as another poster stated, or thrown with improper velocity for the route run. There is no need to throw a 100 mph fastball on an under route when the guy is wide open.

I don't remember JB missing A LOT of open receivers. I remember shontrelle at the end of the game. I didn't see much out of the WRs. A lot of balls of the hands that hit the ground. I wish we had a play where we faked that quick pass that got knocked down so many times. I don't think we had enough deep balls to try to stretch the d. And would have like to see playaction on the 1st down hurry up instead of zone read to go to 2nd and 10. Hard for any QB to do well in 2nd and 3rd and long

Barnett did throw a deep ball guy was wide open didnt even come close to being catchable. He couldnt even throw a little dump to shontrelle when he was wide open.

No, I certainly saw that. What do you expect when they are out there for 40 mins? Holding that offense under 30 was a good accomplishment, lack of third down stops aside, and should have been enough to win the game.

Barnett gets thrown in as a starter for his first 2 games against 2 top 15 teams and you expect him to play like Joe Montana? I don't blame Barnett. Barnett is the best we got. I blame the coaching staff for not starting Barnett since week 1 to give him more in-game experience.

If he makes that pass to SJ, things could have been way different and people wouldn't be complaining. Yes he missed some other throws, but the O is much more stable with him back there IMO.

Pit playing like Montana means hitting wide open receivers, then yes, I expect him to play like Montana. I agree that he is our best option, but that does not absolve him of any blame for playing poorly.

To quote my wife, "Calm the **** down!" We lost by 6 to a number 6 ranked team with an NFL ready QB. SJ is CLEARLY not the answer. JB gives us a chance. Improvement will come with experience. It's too bad we couldn't have had JB in the early games in the season to get him more experience prior to where we are now.

NFL ready QB? Who? Collin Klein will play wide receiver in the NFL. NFL ready :biglaugh:

Here nor there
Running game AWOL is a symptom of an inept passing game. Defenses can take the run game away since we can't pass effectively all game when forced. Sure we can put a drive or two together with passing but then go anemic (3 and out) the next two drives.

Yes, the issues go past the QB spot but it is also not immune to criticism.

EXECUTION.

Very true. If we had the best OLine in the country, would we be better? Sure, but not as much as if we traded for an average Big 12 QB.

It is very easy to stop the run when open receivers are not threatening to the defense.

They were on the field rat long because they couldn't stop KSU on 3rd down. Plenty of drives would have been stopped short if the D could have held them on 3rd down. Look, JB didnt play good, but the D deserves some blame here too

Lets face it. We are mediocre. And that's all there is to it. Steele or Barnett won't fix the problems we have. This team is set for a 5-7 record and my prediction for this season has not changed.

I'm not upset at all because we aren't good. That's the bottom line. I knew this before the season and this is honestly better than I expected us to do. So I'm content.
