Re: Rashad Vaughn

Total predictions are now up to 34. So 2 of them are new predictions, and 2 must be updated predictions.

Pretty sure they're all new predictions and none of the Kentucky's have switched. If they change their pick, it says last prediction under the time they made the current pick and lists the school and date of their previous pick.

Man dude I feel like this years recruiting is going to be a slow drug out opera. We're going to have to wait what 5 or 6 more months on these dudes decisions. I'm going to take a nap. Wake me up when its the final act.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Just out of curiosity, what team do you think is? Surely not his second year team, and though we return Ejim and Niang we don't have exactly the greatest replacements for Clyburn and Lucious.

I would say his 2nd year team was worse than this team. We had mostly transfers and christopherson. I tend to think Niang is better than Royce was especially when it comes to the "team" atmosphere. I would argue that this team has the potential to be markedly better, but it doesn't matter what I say, it matters what they do on the court.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I love how we are trying to decide Hoiberg's "second worse" team and the options are between two teams that finished 3rd/4th in the big 12 and both had 22+ wins, along with NCAA appearances and round of 32. Give it up

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I don't know that a win is key. I think a huge crowd is key. I think the students going all out for Vaughn is key. There was an interview a radio station in Minneapolis did with him not long after he was down for the Baylor game. He mentioned that the crowd was great and they were doing chants and they had a bunch of posters for him. He was impressed. The interviewer then asked why Minnesota fans didn't do that type of stuff when he was at their games and he said he didn't know.

Let this be a lesson to Fred and the staff at Hilton. If Drew ever asks for anything again, tell him to go **** himself.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

IMO the coolest thing Rashad could do to make him beloved by the fan base (even more so) is to get access to a microphone, walk out to center court at halftime, tell everyone who doesn't know who he is and commit on the spot. The electricity in an already jazzed up Hilton would be unbelievable.

False.
I think Niang is better at not turning the ball over, but Royce made a lot of guys around him look much better than they were.

This.

Royce led the team in all statistical categories. This could mean a couple differrent things. Either Royce was freaking amazing, or the rest of the team was not all that good. I'm going with somewhere in the middle.

That team without Royce, and just an avg big, may have looked similar to Fred's first team.

Yea this is pretty much what I was thinking as well. Its hard to say that this team is going to be the "2nd worse" team of the Hoiberg era because at the beginning of each season there were some question marks due to not knowing how transfers were going to play and how well recruits would pan out. By the end of the season we had a better idea and the teams turned out better than we predicted. Same could be true for this team... This years team could be labeled as the "second worse" team from Hoiberg and then end up going to the sweet 16 or elite 8 or whatever else and end up being the best team he's put on the floor. Let them at least play a game before we start ranking where they stand to previous years.

Making Percy seem like an average scorer was one of whites biggest miracles.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Also, the #1 rated SG for 2014 on 247 sports is down to Arizona and Kentucky. The majority of insiders predict that he will go to Arizona.

Also, Kansas is going after the #2 ranked SG on 247 sports named Kelly Oubre (a teammate of Rashad at Findlay this year) and seem to have him in the bag.

Hopefully if these guys sign with these schools it can shy Rashad away from attending these schools or lower his interest.
