Rofl. Thread title now had the word REFUTED in it. It was denied, not refuted.
They refuted the having to buy tickets part and they refuted the travel to HI or NCAAs things and the hotel room is just stupid. Refuted seems applicable.

Not that far off.

Hines's story basically was about the team checking out of a hotel on time and having to find somewhere to hang out for 5 hours and coaches having to pay taxes on free things they received.
I agree with all this. First, I don't think it was a story that needed to be told. There wasn't a whole lot of substance to this reporting. However, I find it a bit disingenuous for Fred to swoop in and refute the story. He obviously has did something that caused otherwise to perceive this rift between him and JP. I just have a hard time thinking that multiple sources would just make up the same story. I have no doubt he said or did something in private that caused people to reach these conclusions, and now he has to save face as he, the golden boy, can't look like he was disgruntled.
Story probably could have gone untold, but I'd really prefer Fred stick to the big leagues and leave us little people alone. It's time to move on, Hines, JP, Hoiberg, fans...it's time for everyone to move on.
If it debunks the source it debunks the article. Whatever, arguing over this is getting tired and passed stupid a long time ago. Nobody's opinion on this is going to change anyways. I didn't question the article at first, but the interviews from JP and Hoiberg switched my opinion significantly. Others aren't going to see it that way. So be it.
No I think it was about Hoiberg being frustrated with Jamie. The salary desctiption, the department briefing, not wanting to give him a raise and the mentioning the raise as reason for increased ticket costs were the things I thought were the big deal. Those were true.
Doesn't seem that hard, just tell the recruits that the story isn't true. Not sure why this would have any impact on recruiting.
Correct. Fred had dreams of going to NBA and also wasn't sure if he could take our basketball program to the next step. Good post.
Whatever, Pollard walks on water and Hines wants to destroy his career by fabricating stuff. Makes sense. Carry on with your delusions. You say you read my post twice when everything I wrote explains away everything you are claiming. You really believe that Hoiberg making no comment or at the very least waiting for awhile to comment (instead of right after it's released) would make it difficult for him to come back to ISU? You obviously don't believe Fred means very much to Iowa State.
I question the article but I also don't think the rebuttal completly debunks it. I think it still sheds some light on Pollard's deficiencies.
Maybe, but what? What part of all the different things that Hines stated couldn't have easily come from someone else? I don't think any of the blame should placed on Fred here.
Those aren't the headline, the national news outlets are leading with us being cheap and forcing our players to sleep in hotel ballrooms. And that would directly affect recruiting negatively.

I don't know what he did, but it must not have been a huge secret. I had heard before that Fred didn't necessarily like JP. Apparently, Keith Murphy had heard the same. People act like the sources were some rogue, disgruntled former coaches. Who would that be? Who left the program on bad terms? Mann would be the only one I can think of. Again, I just can't imagine there are multiple people who are telling the same lie. There's something that was done or said by Fred that led people to believe this. I should say, there isn't anything inherently wrong with that. Fred wouldn't be the first person in the world to take issue with his boss. I just think it's disingenuous to come in now and say everyone's lying. Surely he has more important **** to be dealing with in the big leagues.
Hines would say JP is still here and running a cheap program. Look at the Prohm contract.
