The BIG is the best option, no doubt. However, Iowa being a conference game is not a plus to me. I already am annoyed with dealing with those A-holes as much as I do. Being in their league will make them even worse. Not looking forward to that if it happens.
We could add another cake game to the schedule if iowa becomes a conf opponent. Big 10 would be awesome. Just this once help us out hawk bros.

I need something to take my mind off college athletics. I think I'll start doing meth.

Wish I had that option, not the meth, the not thinking about college athletics... Without being real public about what I do for a living, it is athletics and almost entirely for colleges. Maybe meth is the correct answer - I'd quickly be out of a job in that case!

We can not be left in the lurch here. I love Jaimie Pollard and everything hes done but if we dont end up in a P4 conference after this is over, his reputation will take a massive hit. As other have eluded, a Big 12 without Texas and OU will be relegated to the G5, with only a fraction of the money coming in. Big 10 or bust, we cannot sit around hoping it all works out. Specially if KU is reaching out to the Big 10 already.

But conversely, if we land on our feet - he will have cemented his Mt Rushmore status here.

Two Points:

1-K State isn't getting into the Big Ten or Pac12. Their academics are a boat anchor.

1-Any contract and GOR is only enforceable to the point at which the affected party is willing to pay to defend it.

Don’t forget the grant of rights could well be a mute point. If 6 teams find a seat the conference dissolves and there is no grant of rights. Have to hope we could be one of the moving pieces.

He’s probably doing this right now

Where does KSU rank compared to Nebraska academically in general?

Because iirc, in Nebraska's move to the B1G, academics were not part of the decision.

Big Ten or bust. I know he doesn’t read these threads (and probably the board for that matter) but let’s do this thing JP. It needs to happen.

Well yeah it makes sense for us, but how much sense does it make for the Big 10?

Fans-wise I know I've talked to a few Bucky fans that love them some B1G, and thought ISU in the B1G would make sense and be fun.

This was more in the 'traditional regional' type of convo.

Nebraska was 102 by US News when they got in, lost AAU status and are now at 140. K-State is lowest ranked P5 at 175.

Iowa State is 118 for reference.

Need to amend this. K State isn't the lowest ranked P5. It's Texas Tech at 218. Ouch. Didn't realize they were that far down the pecking order.

Thinking how quickly this is going to get ugly.

The SEC blue bloods will have bidding wars for every 5-4 star recruit in the nation. The gap between everyone else will be staggering within their conference and other conferences.

The remaining blue bloods in the other conferences tOSU, Michigan, Clemson, USC, Oregon and Washington will get a few 5 star players as well and distances themselves from their conference mates as well. All teams will be in bidding wars with liked peers but at lesser amounts of $$. Ugh

Central Iowa is obviously where the bulk of our fans are but we are everywhere in KC, Omaha, Minneapolis, Chicago. Except for KC, all of these are Big Ten markets technically, but adding ISU along with KU boosts the Big Ten’s presence in these markets considerably.
