Show me where Rhoads has supported his players taunting the other team and we actually have a discussion. Until then, you can go back to your first love.

There was a personal foul call two years ago he threw a fit about. Does that count?

What Babb does isn't a sign of disrespect for his opponent.

The line between showboating and taunting is pretty frickin thin. People act like McLemore committed some act of violence. The guy high stepped and looked at the bench. Worthy of a technical, certainly.

EXACTLY. It was worthy of a T and Bill Self went absolutely insane over it. That's all I'm saying.

Well, I don't remember the deets. It sure wasn't an ISU player instigating the other team's bench. You just can't support that! This isn't NAM, there are rules!

...and then his team won the game. That's the point everyone else is making. He doesn't get paid millions to be classy. He gets paid to win games and that is exactly what he does.

I don't disagree with any of that but I'm not going to fault a guy for standing up for his guys and/or playing the "ref influence" game. As much as you, I, and everyone else hate it, it is part of the game and it happens all the time in basketball. Fred isn't going to play that game that hard. I like that about him because I think that demeanor keeps guys composed. On the other hand, sometimes was Self, like Eustachy does is get his team fired up if they need it. It's too completely different styles, both with pros and cons and most coaches fall on one side or the other. Our guy is on the calm side. BTW-I thought what Selfs actions were much more egregious than what McLemore did but I usually am pretty lenient on that type of thing, especially when it's short lived like that. I wouldn't have T'd him up but I would have tossed Self.

I think we're all on the same page here. Maybe you all just didn't hold as much respect for Self as I did before this season. Which...you should get credit for, because he's a whiny little ***** who is a terrible example for student-athletes.

Well football is different on the sideline I guess. There's always jawing and stuff when plays get to the sideline to that's probably not a fair comparison. Point being, Rhoads does act like a lunatic at times. I love that style too and I think it's much better fitted for football than basketball. I like the demeanors we have in each sport. I will also say I am pretty impressed that this team doesn't lose it's composure. It has had numerous opportunities to do that and it doesn't.

I don't know, maybe I'm naive but Self has gone out of his way to say some good things about us in the past which gains points in my book and a guy dunking it in garbage time, a guy grabbing his nuts, and a guy high stepping while looking at our bench while Self complains probably just evens that out and now he's somewhere in Lon Krugers range where I don't really have an opinion on him. Certainly not the character of John Beilein, that's for sure

There's room for showboating, there's room for talking, but there's a difference between that and blatant disrespect. You don't want Cinci-Xavier happening multiple times a year. Coaches should understand the culture enough to understand that.

He was upset we get that. He has the right as a coach to ***** to the refs and take the T, that is what he wanted. But of you call a ref a mother ****** you should get ran.

I can find posts or, at least, texts, saying that stuff in Ames didn't bother me. Maybe tonight I just got sick of losing to KU. I just don't think you can taunt cause it causes retaliation and I'm happy our players didn't do anything to McLemore.

I agree on that level. Didn't really think about that I guess. I also think Hoibergs demeanor sets an example to not overreact to that stuff.

Here's the thing on Self:

1. We shouldn't applogize for Iowa State. We are Iowa State fans. All fans have double standards. It doesn't amtter if we would like it if our coach woudl do it, doesn't make it right. Kansas fans wouldn't do that.

2. He refuses to take his 3 wins against us and go quietely. He is threatened by Iowa State.

3. He is an *******. Any Iowa State fan that doesn't hate him is probably a secret Iowa fan.
