Such a silly thing to say. Campbell clearly doesn't put as much emphasis on this game as conference games, as the results would suggest.

Campbell needs to win this game and should've won in 2017 and 2019. It's time for ISU to go on about a 5-6 game streak to make our beloved neighbors to the east start to whine about the game a little more every year.

I don't necessarily agree with the sentiments, but that's the logic flow.

If it WAS our superbowl, we'd win that game and not much else. Not lose for the last 5 years.

So it's it our superbowl AND we're bad at Superbowls? Liek the Buffalo Bills of the early 90s?

Don't you think Campbell should put an emphasis on every game?
Obviously he cares about every game. But if playing this game in a certain way creates growth to win every conference game that's better than winning this game but losing one conference game.

I think in this scenario that would only work for if we won two games. If the super bowl thing was we won early on then lost, then we’d have to lose the super bowl AND lose throughout the rest of the season.

I think the reality is that Hawks are just dumb as ****.

I thought the Super Bowl comparison was the one where a team goes balls out for that one game and then fails to do much else with the rest of the season. Like, you know, the Hawkeyes of recent years.

I can't remember the last time ISU played well in this game. 2015 maybe?

2017 they weren't bad but dug a hole. But that certainly wasn't their best game of the year.

Fun story - my wife and I were driving on Saturday and the car in front of us had a hawk emblem partially covered in dirt. My wife innocently - and seriously - looked at me and said why the hell does that car have an emblem of a **** and balls on it?

I find that the most enjoyable Iowa fans generally are Iowa alums. Im not saying someone has to be an alum to cheer for any team. I have family that are Cyclone diehards and none went to ISU. But this week is awful. Im tired of the loud, obnoxious non-alum Tavernhok ***holes that just talk trash constantly at every chance they get. It doesnt stop after a week either. Most of the jokes are old, tired and unoriginal, like their AD and head coach.

It’s important for the state but I wouldnt miss it if it went away.

Looks like players get wrapped up in the same silly narratives that your average idiot on a message board does.
