I would like to see Steele somehow be incorporated in the offense he is an amazing athlete. maybe just work out so he does not have an opportunity to throw a pick

Worthy to note that steele hasn't seen a snap since being replaced. At some point you can't keep placing this on the injury. I think rhoads is more comfortable with JB.

He played two or three snaps when JB was momentarily knocked out of the Texas Tech game. Didn't throw a pass though.

Wow, you remember that game a lot different than I do.

Offensive drives were punt, Fumble, Special teams Fumble on Kickoff return, interception by Jantz. So three TO's and one punt and ISU trailed by 13 and the end of Q1.

A missed feild goal by ISU followed by a stupid penalty allowing TX a 1st down on 3rd and long put the clones down by 20 on a long pass. ISU then TO on downs, TX punt followed by ISU 3 and out with the punt returned for a TD and the route was on.

The D made some stupid mistakes and was called for a couple of BS penalties but in my eyes the TX game was lost on Special teams and TO's byt the offense.
No kidding. We never had a chance with the way the offense started that game. I was amazed that the defense was able to keep Texas out of the enzone as long as they did and it seemed like they started everytime already backed in the Texas redzone.

Barnett IS our starting QB! When he wins a bowl game...he WILL BE our RETURNING STARTER...it doesn't matter what anyone here wants or thinks is reality!!!!

Jantz's injury was a major part of his poor play. The combination of the injury leading to poor play was what lead to Barnett starting.

With Barnett starting, we've played very well, and he looks to be better at the bread and butter (zone read) of our offense than Jantz. A lot of that could be due to injury though, and we'll find that out going forward based on who ends up starting next year.

I don't think it's crazy to think that a healthy Jantz in his second year at the D1 level could move back past Barnett, but at the same time Barnett has shown to be a very capable leader of this offense and could easily stay at the helm for the rest of his career.

There was no injury when he threw 3 ints on 4 attempts on a very average to poor UCONN team. That had nothing to do with an injury. The first pass int against A&M was nothing to do with an injury...it was happy feet in the pocket...

He may be an athlete, just not a very good QB at the D1 level.

I think this injury and the extent of it are somewhat of an internet legend. He didn't even miss any practice time as far as I know.

Steele's issue was has decision making.

It's a nice problem to have. Compare this to last spring's "If Tiller doesn't make major improvements or Jantz isn't a superstar on day one we're screwed" discussion.
