The Greater Toronto Area which includes Mississauga, is huge, something like 6 million people. But in elite sports, I am sure players at least know of each other, and probably know each other - AAU, regional and provincial championships, tournaments, etc. So, while Mississauga is a biggish city, I am sure Naz and Jankovic at least know of each other, if not know each other.

They were on the same AAU team as somebody already posted.

I think I'm leaning toward your thoughts as well. His offense would be great, but do we really need more offense. If we do get a grad transfer big, the other starters would be:
Morris
Naz
Thomas
Malou

Does anyone really think we need more offense in that lineup? A solid built guy, that can play defense in the paint, and battle for boards is what I would like to have.

If he can shoot the three that would definetly help offensively allowing us to spread the floor and give lanes for our guards to attack the basket off the dribble. Once Big 12 teams realized McKay was not a threat outside his defender usually cheated towards the basket and helped defend many times picking up a charge.

If we can get a guy to transfer from Hawaii to Ames, IA then I don't ever want to hear the "nobody wants to come to Ames to play ball because it's in Iowa" argument again.

He wasn't a threat inside either.
Word got out.
If he didn't play with Monte and Georges he would have averaged about 4 a game.

If a 6'11 guy that averaged 10 and 5 a game at another D1 school wants to come and play you take him and find room for him.

There are only going to be a handful of grad-transfers available that have the size to be a true center and the competition to get those is going to be high. the staff should take any talent "upgrade" in the post and worry about fit and style later. It is pretty hard to limit your options to only rebounding and blocking centers.
Ernst and Carter should be able to contribute in that way, also the staff is focused on C, Demeble who would fit that profile.

Just need someone who can get 20 boards and completely close down the lane.

They're everywhere.

WANTED:

True 5 7 footer with 3 point range needed for team looking to go 47 deep with all 47 averaging double digit rebounds and playing "real defense": Apply in person at Sukup Practice Facility.

Please note: when our scoring drops off precipitously the fans will turn on you quickly and only talk about how they miss Hoiball and tell you how worthless you are on offense.

A guy can dream right? If we were to land him and Malou is the one and done type talent some seem to think would this be the most explosive offense in ISU history?

Monte Morris 6'2" Senior
Naz Long 6'4" Senior
Matt Thomas 6'4" Senior
Emmanuel Malou 6'9" Junior
Stefan Jankovic 6'11" Senior

Instant offense Burton and Jackson off the bench. Bowie and Cooke.

Hard to get exited by any of this when the 'source' is Randy Peterson.

...And there goes the adding Jankovic possibility.

Hawaii forward Stefan Jankovic will forgo his final year of eligibility to enter the NBA Draft. Will sign with an agent.
