Not interested in sitting in old student section. Sat in SE for a reason. Just asking if anyone has heard if
refunds will be available since this was pulled after renewals.
Just call the ticket office, Im sure they will give you a refund. And be able to answer your question.

I'm aware it's "old hillside" i've had season tickets since 1998 and have been at every home game since. Just not willing to be forced to move to a section I don't consider "better" and then be squeezed for more money next year ( if not this year) because those seats won't stay available without additional expense.
There are none donor seats available in other areas, not just the SE corner.

I feel bad for the people who had already renewed their seats and now will have to move elsewhere but other than that I'm pretty "meh" about it. Like someone stated earlier in a year or two no one will really think/care about it.
Will effect those who choose not to renew because of ticket prices or now they will have to donate as I believe they will change the pricing to match the other side.

This move is strictly being made for safety reasons. There is no financial gain in this move. The student ticket prices remain the same, as do the public ones. You are basically flipping the student section with a public seating area that did not require a donation, too.
Hope you are correct but I don't look for that to stay that way starting 2023.

Not to replace the hundreds of seats they are switching.
Yes there are plenty of non-donor seats available, there were many open non-donor seats last year, but the donor sections were full.

I suspect they know how many non-donor season ticket holders they are displacing and how many non -donor seats they have available, I can tell you even last year there were a lot of those in the other corner still available, as well as other non-donor areas.

I also know they had more donors in States, Cardinal, and Gold than what they had seats available for. possibly other donor levels as well. But they had plenty extra non-donor seats. So by moving students out of those donor seats to non-donor seats it will give more seats to donors and still allow plenty for non-donors. The vast majority of ticket holders donate at some level.

I suspect the non-donor sections will continue to be reduced as years move on, if things continue on the trend we are on. At some point to get a season ticket you will probably have to donate at least to some level. Maybe that will only be $100 per year, but I can see it coming.

In 2022, there are no donations required for ticketholders who move into seats in what is now the old student sections.
After 2022???? Cyclone club also limits the number of seats you can get in the more expensive sections.

I am currently a donor but we have 11 tickets in the non donor section so we can sit together as a family. I can't justify paying four five six hundred dollars for football ticket for myself. Those sections made it affordable for families to attend football games. Also you're limited to how many seats you can get in the donor sections section.

Hopefully!

Here’s to the day that ISU football is so successful that seats are as hard to get as when I was a student and had to win a lottery to get into Hilton.

They can just specifically pick better ones. There will be more than enough empty seats where the students were seated last year to accommodate renewal donors in those sections which will almost all be an upgrade over the SE corners
That's your opinion. We chose that area because of the number if seats we have and it's roomier then the old section. And yes we started out with seats on the 40 yard line so I know how close together those seats are.

Can we all just take a breath. This was sent out today. Everyone comes in here in a panic, and starts speculating what is going to happen and thinks the worst and that they are going to lose their non donor level seats, and have no spot for them.

How about we actually see what happens, or maybe talk to the ticket office to find out some added information before everyone immediately jumps to conclusions.

I dont personally dont have extra non donor seats, but my sister does. But her non donor seats are in an adjacent section.

Don't have 11, but same family situation. Can't fight it so just bowing out.
I think it's kind of sad because I always thought ISU prided themselves on families being able to attend events. The non donor sections made it affordable for all of us to go. It's three generations and the youngest is two.

I was a student at Iowa State when they were successful and your ticket provided a specific seat location.

Those already have existing ticket holders and now trying to move hundreds into them.
Like I said last year those sections had room and were not full of season ticket holders, and there will be at least 3 or 4 new non-donor sections in where the students used to be and will be totally new seating. It is not like the SE corner was full as well so they are not replacing completely full sections from the corner. Sure they were full some games but they were not full of season ticket holders, many of those tickets went to single sales.

Again you all are just jumping to conclusions with no real knowledge of what their plan is and how much room they have.

Take a breath. Send an email or give the ticket office a call. They have always been great to answer any question I have had.

This happened to us when Iowa State flipped sides a few years back. You will have first crack at selecting seats but it will be based off priority.
Out of curiosity how did the athletic department handle your situation when they switched sides?

I think this is a great move by the administration and future forward thinking. I sit in section T and will be impacted and couldn't care less! We've been trying for years to get our 8 together and this will allow that to happen! Will we have to probably pay more in 2023? Sure we will but if I want to keep looking across the stadium to see Matt Campbell on the sidelines. I'm OK with it!

To those ******** about getting moved I have some perspective for you. My parents sat for years 50 yard line top row under the press box (the old one, not the one we all want replaced now) As a kid I napped underneath the overhang of that box for a lot of really bad football games. Gene Smith came to town and told them that they would need to up their donations 1000%. My Dad was irate, wrote letters to the AD, Regents and coaches because he had his seats since the stadium opened and he was just a teacher and alumni that could never afford it.

We got moved to section B and as much as it sucked to not see the game from the 50, the product looked a hell of a lot better and the facilities got better. What didn't change is memories we made and our love for ISU football! We even got to go to a few bowl games afterwards and have some better memories!

Change sucks but if our administration wasn't trying to generate more money for the athletic department they wouldn't be doing their job and my dad would still be trying to say the 1977 Peach Bowl was the best bowl experience he's ever had. So morale of the story is no matter where you sit, enjoy those few Saturdays in the fall in the lots and the stadium because being there and making those memories is why we come back!

Also if you want to keep your 11 seats together I would bet that they would be glad to accommodate.

Sorry for the long rant of what I believe is my first post. Go Cyclones!

There's an epidemic in today's society of people thinking they can pull together some cockamamy *** explanation and think people are dumb enough to buy it. Like for one second people were going to be dumb enough to actually think this is about safety as opposed to student's eating up expensive tickets.
There is also an epidemic of Self Entitlement.

Not saying these are connected.

The Cyclone Club and Athletic Department provide a way to buy as many tickets as you’d like in the donor sections. The limit is more of a personal choice if you choose not to sit together in a donor section.
