Texas will come in hungover from the beatdown they gave OU. That will give us an opportunity if we can take advantage of it.
Wow, that’s a long drive for ribs and bbq.I am going to this game! We are making the 13 hour drive. I am concentrating on ribs and bbq restaurants. The game is a side event - my love has slipped into indifference to CMC and his coach speak. Been around a long long time. No comment on score as that is ridiculous to attempt with a zero offense scheme!
KilljoyYes, Paul Rhoads best season and only bowl win. A game where the offense managed to put up 9 points. If Nebraska would have scored on 4 of those turnovers that were within the 5-yard line and only commits 4 turnovers total it is a 35-9 game.
This stat line just might win the game against Texas this weekend. It did require a TD to win that game in 2009 in Lincoln too.
Hope CMC can help you see an upset!I am going to this game! We are making the 13 hour drive. I am concentrating on ribs and bbq restaurants. I really miss the victory with honor vibe that came from this. Do enjoy the long pass to Hakeem Butler in the Liberty Bowl:I can't speak for Joe, but here are patterns I see.
Overselling development and depth. This staff has 3 rbs in the league (4 if you count Hunt) and a rookie that is making serious waves. To say that this rb room is the deepest, may be technically true, but it certainly sets a perception. If what was meant to say was, previously we've had an A player with C backups, but now we have a room full of B+-B rbs, say something alluding to that. Only problem is, Brock has been on the team for 4 seasons now so that would seem to be a slight to him one way or the other, his ceiling or his floor. Perhaps C. Norton was the cause for those comments, time will tell. We've seen the same for years w/ oline development/depth. These comments can certainly be painted as "coach speak", but they influence fan expectations as well.
Offensive development/innovation and game-winning drives. It seems that ISU is an offensive philosophy vs doing what works. We want to be X version offense, and we try to make that happen vs adjusting to be successful. Also, not trying to highlight an individual player, but outside of the 2019 W against Tx I don't recall many games we've won where the offense has needed to have a go-ahead score to seal the win. Add to this bucket indecisiveness and generally sloppiness in playcalling, time management and execution when pressure mounts.
-- I hate to do this last one, but it's what I see at this stage in development at ISU
Philosophy lived or philosophy spoken. I truly believe Matt cares about his kids and in the larger, principled aspects of life and developing young men. And I also see that when the pressure rises and ISU is in a must-win or next-level opportunity, a return to core habits. I see a young coach that likely had to be coached to harness and control his aggression. In short, in nearly every game over the past handful of years where ISU could take that next step Matt has gone on tilt at some point. Attention to detail and precision seem to be desired areas of focus, but we seem to continually be beaten by teams that can execute on them better than we can.
Does ISU want to win the big game at all costs, or is honor more important than victory? I'm actually good with either answer, but the tension comes when you try to hold onto both. Answer that question and then authentically represent that.
If he does want to reach that next level that comes with getting big wins, change needs to occur. Is there anyone that has his ear to challenge him to reach that next level? Will he?
Will I?
back to work.
Probable. But you'll be wrong because they don't cover.Clones cover the spread but lose. Please prove me wrong Clones.
Somehow CMC seems to be able to keep games within one score. That would be a huge accomplishment here with our offense.
Probable. But you'll be wrong because they don't cover.
The only way we are competitive, let alone win, is if we are a completely different team than we've been to this point. While that'd be great, no way to 'predict it' you'd just be wishing.
I'm actually just hoping the D holds up because they have no reason to not throw everything at us, knowing our lack of O will cover for some mistakes of aggressiveness.

I want to say I do as well, but I don't. Something is broke. Not going to pretend I know what the fix is, but all the CF guys had us winning against KU and I was not surprised by that outcome.I'm feeling a classic back against the wall Matt Campbell win tomorrow
I was thinking about the post-TCU speech that got leaked. Is that still the mantra? BS programs care about 7 win seasons?
Te$ux 41 - 10 ISUWho you got?
What will the difference makers be?
