This is Steve Prohm’s program. Period.

Long ways to go, different era, etc. but the last team to have this many players capable of hurting you from so many angles was 99-00.

Tuesday will be important in further establishing any notion of really good things.

That team wasn't nearly as deep as this one. As dominant as they were, they were always a few bad foul calls away from serious trouble.

Time will tell if any of these guys can claim to be on the level of the best two on that team though.

Tuesday will definitely be interesting. On the road, against Baylor, and after a big win isn’t one we are used to seeing ISU pull off. We have enough guys competing for time though, I think they will bring it.

My hope is with this deep talent we can find the guys to click on a given night if we're playing a less talented team.

The ghost of Fred Hoiberg has been exorcised. This is his program now, totally. He coached one hell of a game, out-coaching even Bill Self.

As as aside, the suspensions and injuries brought this team together.
This may be heresy in some peoples minds but as much as I liked Fred, he didn't recruit like this. He "assembled" some great teams with a mixture of transfers and recruits but never had the kind of quality depth this team has. This team is loaded from top to bottom.

It might just be the availability to be coached by the players but so far the teamwork aspect has been running smooth as opposed to other teams made of transfers that took a while to gel.

Waco has just sucked for ISU generally.

Baylor's due for a win and a loss wouldn't shock me.

Steal a win though and bring it back for a win next Saturday and let the Kool-Aid flow.
GIA sucked for us too for years and we have done fairly well as of late. Not worried at all, this team knows how to win and will do so.

Too soon for a Kool-Aid Waco joke?

Not heresy at all. That's just a fact for anybody who doesn't have their head shoved up Freddy's ass. To the posters who don't see it, there are plenty of ISU fans who find any little thing possible to criticize Prohm and somehow wind up mentioning Hoiberg in the process. It's ridiculous to anybody with half a brain but they're out there. Some are just a little more subtle than others. I have some Cyclone buddies who constantly ***** about Prohm about the most minuscule stuff. One of them flat out said he hates Prohm and wants Hoiberg back. Talks about it as if it's a legit option. The others haven't come right out and said it but I get the impression they feel the same way. Posters on this board and comments on social media have shown me there are way too many who agree with them. It's weird how obsessed people are with Hoiberg. At this point, there is no legitimate reason to want Prohm gone other than an unhealthy obsession with somebody because he grew up in Ames then played and coached at ISU. It's a great story and Fred brought the magic back but as the op said, this is Prohm's team and we're better off if you ask me.

Pick apart his coaching all you want (and SP is a great coach), but how can you hate the guy? He is one of the most genuine coaches I've seen, seems appreciative of the opportunity he has to coach here, cares about his players and seems to be running this program the right way. Tell your friend to pound sand next time he says this.
