This is Steve Prohm’s program. Period.

Usually I agree, but something feels different about this team. If they do win, it sure would be huge to start 2-0 on the road.

Oh, they can win. I feel like the variables are right for a loss though for a young team--big win, national attention, etc. and Baylor needing to win.

There's multiple closers on this ISU team though so if it's at least close at the end of the game, ISU will at least have a legit shot.

This may be heresy in some peoples minds but as much as I liked Fred, he didn't recruit like this. He "assembled" some great teams with a mixture of transfers and recruits but never had the kind of quality depth this team has. This team is loaded from top to bottom.

Agree, players like Morris, Niang, Thomas and Naz, couldn't hold a candle to this group.

It is getting really old when we win a certain group insecure fans come on and claim that Prohm should be worshipped and is the best coach in the Universe. Likewise when we lose another group comes on and complains and reminisces for the Hoiberg days. Why don't we just enjoy the team we have and not have to continue with the Prohm/Hoiberg debate? Let's live in the here and now.

Story Co.
Pick apart his coaching all you want (and SP is a great coach), but how can you hate the guy? He is one of the most genuine coaches I've seen, seems appreciative of the opportunity he has to coach here, cares about his players and seems to be running this program the right way. Tell your friend to pound sand next time he says this.
My friend is the type who runs his mouth a lot and rarely makes a valid point but nobody bothers to call him out. Always seems really offended when I point out how wrong he is.

People have said this multiple times in this thread. They played 7 guys yesterday basically.

I see CSP running a 7-8 man rotation throughout the conference, the personnel will vary a little depending on the opponent and what's working.

I think having this kind of depth and competition for minutes makes everyone play harder, and better.

Prohm is the man, period!

Him and CMC are so much alike in their "The Process" approach to coaching. Prohm maybe even more than CMC believes in this idea actually.

He's not afraid to suspend Lard and Talley for most of the non con, he's not going to try to bring Wigginton or Young back too early off of injury, and then once they were healthy- he's also not afraid to bring them off the bench until they can get up to speed and earn their playing time back. Prohm runs this team, not the players.

And although Prohm wanted to win at Iowa obviously (you want to win every game), he knows that was just one game and that game is not the end goal for this team..... they have MUCH higher goals than beating Iowa, as they should.

Everything is a "process" that ultimately will end up getting this team to where they want to be by the end of the year. Iowa on the other hand seems to put all their eggs in one basket.... just beat ISU.... that is their ultimate goal for the year. They even put guys in that game that are injured and out for the year. And after they win that, then they've accomplished their goal and regress after that.

I think it is also done for the betterment of the individual player. Remember how much it seemed like McKay hated him? Even when McKay turned things around that year, it never seemed like he really got it. But earlier this year, McKay had a very positive tweet about Prohm and it made a person think that he really got it.

Prom isn't only dealing with Cam because it will help the team. he's doing it to help Cam.

And who did Prohm give a shout out to in the crowd at the Cyclone madness thingie? McKay. ;)

CSP and CMC are perfect fits for ISU. Wins are important, but development of the WHOLE person outside of the sport is what gives me great pride. Both coaches want the players to succeed in life and they consistently show that with their efforts.

Damn around to have both those men leading our players. And damn proud of JP for finding them after a few early missteps.

I don't recall the circumstances of the recruitment for all these guys but it is safe to say CSP has proven to be a pretty elite talent evaluator. I like that he holds them accountable and seems committed to their development as people and not just basketball players. Guys that struggle have not been thrown under the bus in the media, I can't think of a single example. Further, he is not just a cliche machine feeding us a steady diet of ******** either. He's pretty much told us what to expect from his teams from day one and hasn't sugar coated anything.

I think an even larger credit to Prohm and his staff is that every one of his teams, even last year's, improved over the season and were a tough out as March approached. I am looking forward to what that means for this team.

Pass the Prohmade.
