There was a plan to have him enroll at Ellsworth, but he didn't follow through on that. The last information that I found was that he planned to try to continue to bump up his ACT so that he could enroll at a 4 year school.

I'm not positive, but I believe that he would have had until this past December to achieve an acceptable test score. If he made the cut, I think that he might be able to enroll at a 4 year school in January.

There was already one former ISU commit named TJ from FL at Ellsworth playing DB so he didn't want to confuse us all.

So are we saying there is a chance both Mutcherson and Hadley will be starting classes in Ames on Monday???

Sounds like he had a problem with steeling and the bogus battery charge got added on. It is not uncommon for a Sr. in HS to have Fr./So. girlfriends. The problem is leaving the door unlocked for your brothers to rob the place blind. And then also using a weapon in another robbery. But if he has got away from his brothers and graduated from JC in 3 semesters then he could be back on focus. If he goes on last years class we aren't really using up a spot that someone else could have.

I'm not going to excuse his actions, but it sounds like he was a minor when he committed the crimes, and people do change. It sure looks like he had a pretty bad home situation. Now that he's been away from it all in Kansas for a couple years at a JUCO, it's possible that he's got his life turned around. Being a December graduate could be evidence of that.

If the rumors of a commitment are true, I trust that Rhoads and the staff have done their homework. Certainly I would expect Hadley to be on a short leash though.

If your names Mutcherson, we will find a place for you.

I don't know about the replacement for Lynn. I have a feeling Clim Robbins was that.

There's just a ton of guys we have shots at right now. Holy smokes.

We do have a ton of guys we have shots at. Whether or not they're talented enough to improve our standing in the Big 12 is the concern. I know we've got to rely on finding some hidden gems, but I'd like to see us get a few kids with multiple BCS offers this year too.

No doubt.

If he got 5 years of probation, I don't think we have to worry about Roads giving him a short leash.....I think someone else would take care of that for us.

It is entirely possible Hadley was 17 when those crimes were committed. I also have to think that had it actually been sexual assualt he would have been brought to higher punishement. I don't think there would have been anything had the parents of the girl not found their house robbed. I don't know. I don't want to claim him fixed or broken, that's for the staff to decide.

On Maggitt-The better chance Wisconsin has, the better chance we have. If I'm a recruit and I talk to Bielma and RHoads, there isn't even a question where I'm going.

These are not insignificant issues. I do not want someone like that to be a Cyclone. Everybody screws up and there's no reason to hold lapses of judgement as a teenager against people. But this is a heck of a lot more than a lapse of judgement. Guy should stilll be in jail, not being recruited.

We have a few kids with multiple BCS offers and a lot of the ones left have BCS offers.

Agree completely. Huge mistake to start recruiting this type.

I am all for second chances, but I think you are minimizing this WAY too much.

According to this article, he was orginally charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious acts and must have been at least 18 when it happened. Then he was arrested a second time for the robbery and charged with three felonies. He would be looking at serious jailtime and a lifetime on the sex offenders list had it not been for her parents and the judge showing him some mercy. Now, he has no choice. He must stay clean for all five years of probation and all charges will be removed from his record. I'm guessing that if he commits even a minor offense, the original charges will be applied.

I understand that she invited him and the sex was "consentual" but at 14 she was more likely an 8th grader and far too young to be consenting to anything with an adult.

I'm happy to see that you can all make clear and concise decisions about someones character without ever meeting the person or knowing anything about a situation other then a couple lines on a random website. It really is impressive.

Get over yourselves.

I've been reading a SOuth Florida board, and found some interesting things. Apparently Josh Grady's dad is a well respected person/coach in Florida. Mutcherson and Hadley were going to end up at USF, and that was being facilitated by Josh and his dad. The news that these two are possibly going to ISU is huge for Grady.

This. A lot of you guys sound like hawkeyes. I can't believe we would bring a player in with this kind of a background. Honor before Victory!

Is anyone else getting a little irked to hear that Iowa State is having quite a bit of success in recruiting our backyard? Come on fellas, it's Iowa State. Who the hell grows up in Florida and wants to go to Iowa State? I don't care what the story may be, but they are in a TON of conversations with recruits. That's how you sell a "vision". If Iowa State out recruits USF, there's something seriously wrong here.

Yeah, because good kids who are Seniors in HS never go out with Freshmen.:jimlad:
