***Video Board Renderings Released***

I like the looks of it, but am curious why the artist put our score at negative 45.:twitcy::jimlad:

Honestly I'm usually a whiner but this looks great and I can't wait for the upgrade.

To anyone concerned with the 'gap' potential.

The top of the structure is 101 feet high.
The Display portion of the board is 36 feet high.
Add lets say 10 feet for support that isn't part of the display structure.

So, the Bottom of the board is about 55 feet above the ground level. The Jac is at least 30 feet tall (more on the SE and SW corners.) It also has a skylight thing through the middle that gets higher (I think) as you go North.

So when you consider the angles most fans will look at the scoreboard from most won't see much of a gap at all between the Jac and the video board.

I think the artist renderings might be making any 'gap' appear more significant than it really will be.

Good points. I can't wait to see this monster in person!

"The project will also include a Daktronics custom-built sound system for Jack Trice Stadium. That new Sportsound system uses the latest digital audio technology and will implement pounding base energy and smooth mid- and high-range frequencies."

Maybe they will get it THX certified and then when they boot it up for every game there will be that awesome THX sound bit. I bet that will get people into the stadium early.:jiggy:[/QUOTE]

i agree, this is going to be very awesome.

I think it looks great. soooo.. will we see it on ncaa football 12? that'd look sweet on the game, but with it not being done for awhile and the game due to release this summer, will they leave it out?

I would be shocked if it's in the years edition

It is glorious! I love it! When is football season?

If they put a windmill on top in could be a "green" scoreboard. It has to be a strong mutha to hold up to the winds it will face.

Looks like I am waiting for NCAA '13 for sure then. I bought 11 and I rarely buy them two years in a row unless they make major changes/improvements.

BTW its not -45 its a football showing ISU has the ball. It looks good and I do not believe the gap with be that outrageous.
