What are some things that you would want out of CSP vs CFH?

Actually calling a timeout when **** is hitting the fan or a possession is going haywire at a crucial time (ahem last-45-seconds-of-UAB-game).

Last year at the end of the season we didn't exactly have great starts. Oklahoma, Texas at B12 tournament, UAB, Baylor are a couple that come to mind.
The interesting thing is, in that UAB game we went up 12-2 right away. During that time-out, I thought, "Good, it will be nice to have a blow-out in the first game." Had we gone into that 1st timeout behind or in a close game, I would have been a little more nervous. Then the ****storm went into effect, and we never recovered. As far as team performances go, probably the worst of the Hoiberg era.

I think we have already seen what CSP can do that CFH didn't. CSP embraces the whole process of being a college basketball coach and his recruiting reflects that.

Don't over work the stars in the non conference (Georges, Morris, McKay).
Get Cooke and Burton decent amount of minutes to get them acclimated in our system (rest them vs the scrub teams).
Figure out the back up point guard situation. If you can't find one, Georges is capable of filling in for Monte. We'll see what Cooke can do, but I would consider trying Thomas at the point. Anybody with half a brain and eyes that can see could see Thomas is not a spot up shooter. I think the last opportunity for him to get serious playing time in his career will be as a backup point guard. See what he does against the non conference stiffs and have Steve make the decision from there. I hope he makes the right decision.
Give Naz/Nader confidence before the conference starts. They may not be our best players, but their ability to hit 3's are crucial to our success and we will not make a National Championship run without them.
Prohm needs to ride the car Fred built and not screw things up. Period.

Agreed!! I'd love to see some better Out of Conference Scheduling too. Lets get some big boys from out East and West to play home and aways. I don't know if it was ever an option but I wish UNC was playing ISU instead of NIU this year.

I'm sure that will come with time as our reputation increases from post CFH era. Lets play some UCLAs some Ohio States, DUKE or the like. One thing recruits love is the idea that they will be playing against the best and the chance to play in arenas like Cameron or DES would be attractive to the level of recruits we can pull in.

I don't know.....at least UAB was actually a tournament team. Texas Tech was just flat out embarrassing.

Finish higher than 3rd in the conference and make it past the Sweet 16. Consistency.

So what corny management book did you read that line in? :)

I served as research director and marketing manager building one of the most successful family owned companies in the US. So, I suppose those comments are a compilation personal experience, observation and education.

Just kidding. I just find it funny when someone at work spouts a line they clearly just read in a "How to be a Manager" book at me.

Not sure if you are in a management or ownership role, but if you have employees who offer comments like that, consider yourself blessed. Leadership performance can be optimized by surrounding yourself with the brightest and most creative people money can buy, but rest assured that leaders who are unwilling to listen will be surrounded by those who have nothing to say. Empower your team and Go Cyclones!

I just want to see CSP tap into his bench more than Hoiberg did. I feel like Edozie had more in him than Hoiberg allowed him to be.
