Wherever I go, there I am.
Jok is much better than Thomas at escaping discipline for OWI's.[y/QUOTE]

Fixed it for you. No charge this time.

But seriously, Uthoff is a basketball god and Jok is the second coming of Michael Jordan. The Hawkeyes are the greatest basketball team ever. Am I doing this correctly, polyester-clad Taven Hawks?

It's Niang. Better offensive player and though his defense isn't as good he more than makes up with his intangibles.
Iowa is a really good team though this year with an emphasis on team. They aren't going to out talent anyone but that's ok. Iowa has peaked though bc I don't think they can play any better than they have and ISU is still getting better.

Uthoff is an extremely unique shot blocker, I mean it's very fun to watch at times. But he's not some all world defender or he wouldn't have less steals and rebounds than Niang who they're trying to paint as a liability on one end of the court.

He's not a Chris Babb you can put on the other team's best player one on one the entire game to snuff him out, if he was he'd have guarded Niang, Ejim or Kane all game the past 3 years they lost to ISU. He's a guy who creates serious havoc coming over on double teams out of nowhere to block or change shots.

McKay blocks a ton of shots too but I wouldn't put him among ISU's best defenders either.

We won the game this year. We played dreadful the first half, and Iowa played probably the best half they will play all year. We still won the game. Don't care if it was at home we won the game. What are the "good" wins for Iowa? Being we like to use rankings and not the "eye test" would be Purdue (RPI 30). ISU best win is over OU (RPI 2) and we have two more wins over the (RPI top 25). I don't have to focus on Iowa anymore we beat them, and the BIG10 conference isn't very good compared to what we have to play against. There should be no argument from anyone on that statement.

Jared Uthoff vs Niang.... not even going to respond to this question. Niang has won three straight vs. Iowa and Uthoff, and in the end that's all that matters.

Also I thought we hated dirty thug transfers and loved loyal 4 year players. That one seems to have disappeared.

Jok is a one trick pony, he can score, that's it. Every other aspect of their games would favor Matt.

They started out similar players but by now they are very different players now. Jok is more like Naz if you want to make a comparison now.

They're both shooting 40% from 3. Jok is a better scorer because he shoots more but Thomas is light years better on defense.

Sorry, but this isn't true. Jok has actually been very good defensively this year and has more defensive win shares than Thomas. They also may shoot the same percentage from three, but Thomas is shooting largely open, catch and shoot threes while Jok is creating more and taking more difficult shots. Thomas is a pretty good role player, nothing more.

Beating the #30 team on the road is more difficult than beating the #2 team at home.

Wasn't this thread about Niang and Uthoff?

I love the part that Iowa is the better team, funny too bad we don't have a head to head matchup to determine that. I would play them any day and anywhere.

You forgot YOU would play them 'any time'. YOU must be really really good, unless YOU some how speak for the team.

Refute one of those statements with facts or evidence. I would love to see you try.

Thomas is better defensively than Jok. He shut down your best player who's also 5 inches taller than him. Could you imagine Jok on Niang?

Thomas does not shoot any more open shots than Jok. Thomas shoots a ton of pump fake step back three's. A lot of Jok's made three's are open in transition. Did you watch the game last night?

Eammonn Brennon thinks that... most do not. Jay Bilas, Jay Williams, Fran Fraschila, etc. all have boners over Georges. Bilas said he was the hardest person to guard in the NCAA.

I like how in the same thread Uthoff can be the greatest player in the universe, but a guy who shut him down in the second half of a LOSS after he scored 30 in the first half sucks at defense. You're a trip man.
