Says the guy that takes a veiled potshot at Coach Prohm in nearly every post.
Given your distorted views and insecurities from being an older fan, I can see how you would read it that way. Although you’re incorrect in your interpretation, I appreciate your efforts to protect the shield.

And it’s possible to post criticism of Prohm while still thinking he can do a good job in the future.

Difference of opinion is fine, there's plenty of that around here. My problem, and probably others, is when posters straight up say they don't want Prohm here, or that he's not good enough for the job.

Disagree with his style or methods, but why say he needs fired, or should have never been hired? None of us know how this is going to go, and compared to Hoiberg's seasons, he has not underachieved, mostly with Fred's players.

The only reason I can see to do this, is so if Prohm does fail, then you can say "I told you so." I just don't get the fandom in that.

That couldn't be further from the truth. At no point have I played the "I told you so" game. I've ate crow at every time I've been proven wrong and hope like hell I'm wrong here.

Can't quite put my finger on it, but the persistent and empty criticism of Prohm since he got here from a handful of posters seizing whatever opportunity given them, no matter how remote, makes me wonder if it has nothing to do with his basketball coaching acumen at all.

My theory is that whenever they see the ohm in Prohm they get pire wheel anxiety and remember how frustrated they were trying to understand electricity.

Am I one of the few posters who likes Fred and likes Prohm?

I'm sure that isn't true, but to read some of these threads you'd think I was as rare as a zebra at the Kentucky Derby.

Count me in as among that seemingly rare group as well.

However, and this is an old dynamic on here, the prevailing mindset on here seems to be either black OR white, with no shades of grey allowed, much less tolerated.

I think it boils down more to a fan base not used to winning, and enjoying the noteriety Fred brought.

Reality is different.

What argument are you talking about? I'm saying it wasn't a snub and it wasn't. TJ didn't have a good enough resume to get the Wisconsin GB or Drake job for goodness sakes and he was a finalist for the ISU job. There is no way you can say picking a proven head coach like Prohm over TJ was a snub. TJ got more than a fair shot and just missed out because supposedly Prohm was seriously impressive in the interview. I think the fact TJ stuck around for a year as Prohm's assistant proves he didn't feel snubbed.
Please stick to facts. TJ pulled himself out of running for the GB job when Hoiberg called him back. He canceled the scheduled interview with GB.

Absolutely it was spin and you would have to be very gullible to not realize that. I am happy with the SP hire. A couple more years like this year and I will be able to sit in the parquet for men's basketball games. Only true koolaid drinkers can't see what is happening with the basketball program. It is interesting that people are already trying to dial back expectations for next year.
GTFO of here.

Only a true troll can't see the injuries and youth that derailed this transition year.
