Wonder what HC would be willing to get himself into the mess that is currently Baylor. Gotta imagine they are going to go right back to pre-'10s Baylor since they don't exactly have the winning tradition and funding a school like Penn State has to survive this sort of thing.

Glad to see the university did the appropriate thing, however.

they've still got pretty good facilities and are still located in texas, so they'll probably be alright. This is probably a great thing for Briles son's career though. Now we'll find out what his offense looks like without his dad there.

Glad justice is being served here, my one regret is that now when Baylor sucks again, they have an excuse. I was anticipating the days where MC's rebuild of our program surpassed and defeated Briles crooked regime.

If Baylor BB can survive a murder on the team, BB Football can survive this. They will not be moving the university out of the state of Texas.

Baylor was in the state of Texas from the 1980s to 2011 and wasn't ranked for a single one of those seasons. Not sure that logic is exactly sound.

Hope the victims can find some peace with this ruling. Surprised that they finally put something above football.

The timing of this is interesting. Could be very bad for recruiting. Sort of like when Iowa fired Tom Davis but let him stay another year.

they've upgraded their facilities substantially since then, including a new football stadium.

Misbehavior was just allowed to continue at Baylor, that is his downfall. I think as time will move on, people will look at the situation, and Briles should have suspended these guys when initial reports came out. Eventually, most will put the full blame on the players for actually committing the crimes. That's why I think he'll coach again, and soon.

Still, I see him coaching at a Div. 1 school again, the guy is clearly a hell of a coach and recruiter. I'm sure schools in the SEC are willing to give him a shot. I really hope he stays out of the Big 12 though. Him going to Texas or K-State would not be good for ISU, because of his continued access to get solid recruits out of Texas. (Just chose those two schools as examples as I see changes to their Head Football coaches happening next year.)

If a guy like Calapari or Rick Pitino can continue to find big time schools that want them to coach, so will Briles. *Cough, SEC.

This is a mess now, but I still see this guy getting another chance somewhere.

Sad players are saying this is an injustice. What about the real victims?

Good to see football not completely warp the mind of Texas for once.

Maybe if they don't want their coach fired, they should stop raping and beating women and/or accepting those that do.

I called and cancelled my season tickets (all ten), then asked the BBF to refund my donation. I'm done with Baylor.

Best thing is it's May and not much going on in sports....hope this stays front page for awhile so Baylor can experience a PR nightmare on top of the horrible things they've done.

So, abandon the university once they decide to do the right thing? That says a lot about those fans.

I don't think they are abandoning the university because they did the right thing. I think they are abandoning the university because of what they did in the first place. The current fallout is just proving the allegations for them.

Now that the program is built up it will be a lot harder to tear down. Briles did wonders for that program and took advantage of every benefit of being in the state of Texas where his predecessors did not.

Well, it was to the point where it probably would have had a financial impact....so really, while it is finally the right thing to do, it's still only being done for money

How does Ken Starr survive this and stay associated with the school? If it was bad enough to swallow up the coach and AD then it was probably bad enough to completely clean house.

I wonder that, too. Starr is a master of playing hardball and keeping himself intact. It makes no sense to keep him.
I also think that promoting the DC is an issue if most of the culprits were defensive players. He has to be culpable, too.

I'd like to know more about the "sanctions" for the Athletic Director. I see that he's suspended, but how is that supposed to be shaking out.
