Jay Bilas and his Duke/ACC bias. What is the Over/Under on how many times Jay Bilas will he bring up Cooper Flagg during the game on Wednesday?

100% agree, only other team I've felt like this about is 1999-2000. Even with them it took a while to realize, the "we can beat anyone in the country" confidence wasn't there for me until near the end of the regular season. E.g. that team wasn't ranked until early February after beating #12 KU at home, and prior to that didn't really have any super-impressive wins. They beat Arkansas on a neutral floor early on (eventually a 19-win team) and beat Colorado at home early in the Big 12 slate (eventually a 18-win team), meh.Often when Iowa State is ranked in the top ten, I know it is a little bit of fools gold. Basketball or football. We have likely over achieved our talent level and it is a matter of time until we drop outside the top ten. This year is different in that I legitimately believe we are a top 5 team in the country. Our talent is so good. As good as we have played, I know we still have more. I refuse to look too far ahead. I just want to enjoy beating Kansas in Hilton with someone like Bilias calling our game. I don’t like his bias, but him coming to Ames in January means we are relevant. What a great time to be a Cyclone.
This game is set up to be fascinating. I suspect Bill is going to pull out all the stops to win this one - patented technical when in trouble, will declare TJ the second coming of Wooden in pre-game comments, extra tape on the toupe.
I love these winning streaks where every game gets bigger regardless of who you are playing but is amplified when a blue blood is the opposition.
I’d like to see Bilas show up when it’s not Kansas or Houston. If Bilas is here, it usually means we're having a very good season. I'd rather have that than losing to the Florida A&Ms of the world like we did in the Prohm era.
He’s been here for an Oklahoma gameI’d like to see Bilas show up when it’s not Kansas or Houston.
You know how to really tell that we are Legit good? Look at the absence of Hok trolls in these threads...the chicken little cyclone fans have stepped up to fill the void though!Often when Iowa State is ranked in the top ten, I know it is a little bit of fools gold. He’s fair, but is pretty dry for a color commentator. He’s the anti Bill Walton.Jess Settles played for Iowa but is a good/fair/unbiased commentator.
In the destroy Ku thread someone linked Ku forum, they were complaining about Fran announcing our games and that we play FB style defense.I would like that too. I imagine some people from other fan bases feel Fran is a huge ISU homer.
