I like Boozer and understand he is a fan favorite, but people need to calm down. IF, and its a big if, he is leaving...we are losing a guy that plays 8 minutes per game and scores 2.5 and rebounds 1.6. Yes he hustled and definitely helps the team but please don't act like the sky is falling because we are losing the 8th or 9th guy off the bench.
It's the principle behind it. I'm not saying it will impact us from a W and L standpoint.
I think the message it sends to recruits is that if you work hard you could still get run off the team.
From what I read, I thought Boozer was ok with a role of coming off the bench. I don't think he's looking to be a star. It just sounds like if he's gone it's because the coaching staff didn't appreciate what he brought to the program.
Typically coaches respect players that work hard, regardless of their limitations, as it helps guys get ready during practice. If you talk to a lot of coaches across various sports, often times they're favorite player they coached wasn't necessarily the star on the team.
That's my problem.
