What are people's thoughts on paying more to site closer to the court? So there may be two different student season ticket options and those that pay more would get first priority? I'm somewhat assuming here that those willing to pay more are better fans in general, but that is not necessarily the case.

How about those that get the most tv time average get the better seats. Odds are if the tv cameras are on them, they are doing something right...or wrong, but soooo right.

I was on TV most of the year last year. Even made it on the first part of Sports Center.... By the end of the year I got pushed up the rows by some d-bags who just stood there with their phones. Their seats were usually saved by the CAC. This is why I boycott and hate CA

I could also get behind giving those that fall in a blood alcohol level "sweet spot" the best seats. Somewhere above .1 but below .2 or so. Breath test everyone on their way in and have BAL tiered seating.

Didn't have time to read the entire thread, but if there's some way we can get the entire student section to be jumping up and down for tip off that would be really cool... Not sure how it would be done, but maybe playing Jump Around before tip and imploring that students do it? I dunno, I just think it'd look sweet.

Dumb. Again, its not broke. The more and more you try to get away from a completely organic student section, the more you risk ruining what you got.

Its been said already, but I think Im gonna say it again.

If you need to be drunk before the game to act crazy, then you are doing it all wrong.

We should try to rid the Alley of all the tools and replace them with real-*** bros. No more girls in the lower section either they're dumb.

I think the majority of us can agree that the simplest and most effective solution would be to just do away with CA.
It needs to be like football. No special section, no special committee, no special rules and policies. Just students getting rowdy and being loud.

yep, rules and organization kill all that is special about a student section.

Yeah, the shots of Cyclone Alley showing people on their phones is annoying. You're not at a high school game, you're at one of the finest home courts in ALL of college basketball. If you can't appreciate that, then you don't belong anywhere near the court. It may seem overboard to even suggest that at the meeting, but it truly seems to be an issue. You shouldn't be mentally checked out while sitting in the student section of an ISU basketball game. It's asinine that this should even be an issue.

Okay, I get on my phone at games...at half... or during timeouts to look at the Espn gamecast when the scoreboards are being too slow for my liking.... So not all phone usage is unacceptable imo....

I don't see the reason why you are claiming that individuals need to be drunk to act crazy. I just personally enjoy watching Iowa State with a good buzz, it's fun. If you don't understand how some people find more enjoyment in that, then that is your choice.

They need to get rid of it. Let the leadership in the student grow from within again, rather than being pushed on the students.

In what way would segregating the student sections into different price levels help Cyclone Alley?

Ideally, those that care more about the game, those that go crazy and stuff would be willing to pay more to go to the games. Those that txt, don't care, sorority girls that talk about the twitter layout, etc. wouldn't be willing to pay as much and would therefore be seated further back. Think about it, who sits up close in the non-student sections, those that are willing to pay more and often care more.

That's not what he was saying. He was responded to those who were making that claim.

I'm not saying drink or don't drink before a game - do whatever you want. I just chuckle when I see the old timers comment about the student section needing to be drunker to make more noise.
