Haha I think I know who you are talking about. I was thinking there might have been a thread started about her last season.

There was, I remember reading it. I think somebody talked about it to her, cuz she was pretty quiet after that.

Yes we students could/ will be better. But there are way more non student seats which people could be standing up and being loud as well. And I see non students on their phones during break as well. For every texter there is two people who get up with three minutes left in a tie game to beat traffic.

Let's not do the newspaper thing. I'm pretty sure that's done at 95% of high schools. Keep that tradition in HS. It's about the same as the "You can't do that" chant. Some things were cool in HS, but not at the college level.

1) Give up the front row seats to students.
2) Don't allow students in the front 10 rows or so to save seats for extended periods of time. The people that want to be there are usually there when the doors open.
3) Toss rewards likes t-shirts, hats, etc. to the students that remain standing during a time out (sad that this is needed).
4) Organize a creative group to research notoriously rowdy student sections and come up with new chants/cheers/general noise. I emphasize creative because the band's chants are ridiculously cheesy.
5) Find a group of students who attend every game to lead the new chants/cheers/general noise.
5) Make rowdiness the tradition rather than an exception for big games.
6) Find a way to restore my print credits after making a sign.

We should just remove the seats in the lower bowl for everyone. If the students/bluehairs can't handle it, they can sit in the upper deck.

Or the time limit there seems to be on standing up on the side. We get that momentum going and the entire place is yelling and standing up, but if we miss a shot (or even make one for that matter) or the other team puts one in, like clockwork there's a giant wave of people sitting down. Hilton is so awesome when everyone is standing up and yelling. I just wish it could be for more than 30 seconds at a time.
But I know all of the non-students on here more than likely stand and get into the game much more than the people sitting around them, so it's pretty much just preaching to the choir on here.

Agreed and the students on here probably aren't the ones texting or being quiet. We are all fanatics on here and we need to spread the word to all the other clones in the arena and stadium to get behind our team.

you are totally correct. And everybody--newsflash--we have a great fan base--so lets focus it on taking it to the next level, and not ripping up at each other. sheesh.

Please remind me... what where there to go crazy about yesterday. When the dunks happened, and when Babb hit a big three, the place went nuts. Other than that, Oklahoma was 8289502 times worse then we all thought they would be, so chill out.

And to the guy that mentioned the fans that leave early to beat traffic, thank you. Just cause you donate your life to sit on the sidelines or behind the benches (which I admire), you can be crazy too. Not just the students. Also, to the idiot who said that the people in the front row (me and a few of my friends last night) who tried to get camera time are lame, I am sorry. Next time we will be sure to look straight ahead and do nothing:SLEEP:

I think the entire student section should sing the songs from the pinball wizard. At half time we take an intermission and a nap. Then we start up again.

-Bring up the idea of them using whatever money (that they can use freely) to make signs FOR the student section. By signs I mean random big heads, generic saying, bricks, spinny things to distract shooters, whatever. Then they can distribute them randomly throughout the student section. The kids that do make and bring signs are usually buddies with the other kids that are willing to do it. So what signs are there you usually see all in one part of the student section.

-Have poster/costume contests more regularly (and tell us about them earlier than a few hours before gametime..) A contest might seem "lame" to some, but if it encourages kids to bring random signs and dress crazy then you're promoting chaos at least a little bit.

-Keep the waving the arm thing for free throws, it would distract me if I was shooting. BUT have the arms wave AS he shoots it, not after.

-This one would probably be far too much effort for them to ever consider, and from a student-organization standpoint might be too inappropriate to ever happen.. but they could do research on opposing teams players and coaches. If any of those players would happen to have an interesting past (anything that students could ride on them about) throw it on that Cyclone Alley report thing they put on all the seats before games. Imagine every student knowing something about a player and being able to get under his skin with it. (Again, probably too inappropriate for them to even consider.. I just think it would be cool)

-SPEEDO MAN BEHIND THE HOOP TO DISTRACT THE FT SHOOTER. Ala the fat guy from Utah State.

-The biggest point to make is that chaos should be promoted, not feared. There are so many kids that go to these games just to go, and feel far too self-conscious to really go crazy in the student section. Promote craziness, if some kid shows up in a freaking speedo, and jumps around and screams the whole game, he should be rewarded with guaranteed front row seats to the next game. Who doesn't want front row seats? That would definitely encourage kids to just let loose and have fun out there.

not sure about this. I hate how some use every home game like it's halloween.

You want to fix CA? Get rid of the CAC.

the problem is that organization is made up of the same soulless resume padding nerds that created this stupid thing in the first place.

if you want to fix the student section, you return it to being simply a student section. Remove some stupid leadership council that runs it.

But that won't happen, because the guy coming on here asking us how to fix the student section isn't really interested in doing that. He's just interested in padding his résumé.
