Just like Al Davis and the Raiders. I'm a Raiders fan but knew we weren't going to do anything until Al was gone. His son is at least competent enough to hire a GM.He will die before he sells that team. His ego is way too big.

As a Vikings fan living in DFW metro it is so sweet listening to all the Cowboys fans and media whining about the refs. They just are an average team that beat up on a weak divisionI’m having a hard time understanding what’s controversial about the end of that game. It was over when Dak decided to run the play before. The official got in there to spot the ball faster than they normally would, and there still wasn’t enough time because he slid with 8 seconds left.
If anything, the official should’ve taken more time to spot the ball accurately. It was only close because he did them a solid and just touched the ball without backing up to where the slide started.
This was exactly what I said last night during the game. Go down a few years earlier and clock wouldn't have run out.
Quarterback draw with 14 seconds and no timeouts. They should have thrown stuff at who called that play
I don't think the play call was a good idea, but I wouldn't say it was terrible either. The execution was no doubt just plain awful. Dak and the center HAVE to know the ref needs to set the ball. That has been a rule since the beginning of football. They screwed that up and have no one else to blame it on but themselves. Not sure why everyone calling the play so dumb.
They were on the 40 yard line, SF had 6 players on the sideline, they could not run an out route and there was 15 seconds left. Their chance of a hail mary is maybe 2-5% successful. If he can pick up 15 yards, spike ball - and then run a play from the 25 yard line, i'd guess that odds of a successful TD are 4-5x higher. They don't have the time to run any play short of the end zone either.
It didn't work out... but neither would a hail mary. Perfect execution and it probably would have.
For Cowboys to blame the refs though is stupid. The penalties were just dumb, dumb penalties. Randy Gregory probably holds 4 of the top 5 dumb penalities in Cowboy history.
I was intrigued with the Viking interest in Moore.......until I saw him call that play. Now I'm hoping and praying that MN goes in a different direction

I’ve often wondered why in late game situations when the middle of the field is open teams don’t complete it over the middle then throw a lateral out of bounds to stop the clock. Is that illegal?
Everything I've seen from the post game analysis stated that it takes 16-18 seconds to for an NFL team to run play in the field of play, get up to the line, and down it. For Dallas to assume that they could do so with 14 seconds, either means they know something every other NFL team doesn't know, or they were idiots. ...the results seem to indicate the later.
That said, they still weren't going to win the game, but to me running a play that ends the game is inexcusable. This is Paul Rhoads not knowing that he could down the football to win vs. KSU in 2015 bad imho.
I think it's a bit different in this situation for the time necessary. I assume when commentators were saying that, they were referring to a more normal play, with receivers running deeper routes, etc. The QB draw was such that all of the offense was already running to the line as the play was happening, and was set to spike quickly. Had they made it easier for the referee or downed it a bit earlier, they probably would have had it, even with only 14 seconds.
Frankly, with the timeout beforehand, they probably also should have warned the referee that they were going to do that, so they'd be more prepared to place the ball.
As far as the final play call goes-- Tony Romo correctly predicted 'anything to middle and the game's over'. Too bad for the Cowboys he wasn't on the sideline.
