I really hope Booker can play. CG was one of my favorite players in a while, total bummer.
Exactly! It is amazing how c4rtain people jusrt don't understand that you have to play by the rules when you sign scholly papers. If the NCAA puts milk on their banned substances list, you best find another liquid to pour onto your Apple Jacks. Agree or not, hippie lettuce is illegal.
This is my random unfounded speculation for the day:
We all know Railey got into trouble twice. One was a DUI. IMO a DUI is far more serious than weed. At that point CG was presumably on his 3rd and last chance in terms of weed. Do you guys think the FH had a gut feeling that CG wouldn't be able to stay out of trouble and that's why he held on to Railey? Railey messed up in a much more serious manner IMO, however CG showed a blatant disregard for the rules and authority of Hoiberg. He is assumed to have done the same thing over and over again. As far as how it related to the program and FH, I do feel Godfrey showed that he didn't really care all that much.
I don't necessarily think that FH kept Railey around simply for the fact of Godfrey being close to gone, but I do think as a coach who desperately wants a needs to win, that thought at some point comes to your mind.
Actually abotu 60% of it has been:smile:Reminder: This thread is not about debating the merits of legalizing marijuana.
Why do people ignore the policy for student athletes? If you looked at the policy, you would see that Fred is strictly following policy. To generalize, it is a three strikes and your out policy. Godfrey has had three strikes. Railey hasn't.
No, you would say, "Screw it, I'll eat what I damn well please. Ain't no one tellin me what I can and can't eat." All because you would have been deemed special your whole life with every thing given to you, and never having consequences for your actions. If I could play D1 ball and the coach said I had to refrain from eating mac & cheese my 4 years there, I'd be shifting my diet. I'd be eating cardboard and paste if that's what was required.
Boxerdaddy- Nowhere in this post have I defended CG for what he did, and he deserves what he got from Fred. My main issue is medical marijuana and those that oppose it. And yes I also think the government is crazy not to legalize it and tax it, raising billions and saving billions in the process.
I'm not shocked either. But it definitely sucks. Godfrey had such a big upside.
I was giddy thinking about him on the 2012-2013 team.
I'm really getting sick of a transfer or dismissal every few months. Its starting to sour me on college hoops, and I hate that. Here's to hoping we are really good next year and its exercises all of our demons.
I firmly believe that Hoiberg will be on the "Hot Seat" from here on out.
