If you want CPR gone, who do you want to be hired to replace him?

To all the people calling me an idiot for Kiffin: he has a better record than Rhoads. He can recruit. Rhoads could never recruit. Also, who cares if he only coaches here for 3-4 years before moving elsewhere? He will put us in a better position and win more games than that loser Rhoads of ours. Too many people are accepting being the worst of the conference and think there's nobody that can make this team better. That's a lousy attitude. I, for one, am ready for change. I guess a bunch of you love losing as it's clear by your attitudes and not wanting Rhoads fired because he's a "good guy". Being a "good guy" doesn't win games as evidenced by his 27-38 career record.

Great idea because Lane did such a great job at each place he has coached.

Oh, wait...

I'll never understand the mentality of those that just blindly follow Rhoads. He's never been successful in any part of coaching. Does he yell at people and throw fits at the ref? Yeah. But a 5 year old could do that too.

He's not a very good "X's and O's" coach and he sure as hell can't recruit. I just don't see how people can have faith in him. He's hasn't shown to be good at anything.

Without being dramatic and getting upset at me, can someone tell me what they like about Rhoads currently?

And to answer the questions of who I'd replace him with... I would love to see Sage get a chance. Maybe hire a guy from A&M or Baylor or Tech. An offensive mind from one of those systems. Plus someone with Texas roots wouldn't hurt. At this point in Iowa states place in college football, we won't be able to hire a bigger name for a price we can pay. We need to hire an unknown/up and coming guy.

All of that said, no chance Rhoads gets fired. That's the sad part. He has job security right now. Not sure how someone who's lost 2 straight to FCS teams can have that but that's iowa state football for you.

If you really think an assistant coach at Alabama is going to come to Iowa State than you might want to check yourself for brain damage.

I do not want Rhoads gone...but unfortunately I'm going to say...Colorado State did it. Why can't we?

"McElwain, 52, came to Fort Collins from Alabama, where he had served as Nick Saban's offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach from 2008-11. His hire was officially announced on Dec. 13, 2011, in a press conference on the Colorado State campus."

We need a guy like this IF IF IF in a year or two, we can't get things going!

Outside of the "Why would Lane Kiffin come here" talk, why on earth would anyone want him here. He is a cancer. He has fallen into more jobs and failed in them more than anyone on earth.

My next thought is that 2015 is THE year for ISU based on what we have returning and how some things shake out in the Big 12 overall. I had hoped it was the year ISU could be a legit top 3 team in the conference. I woke up to reality last week, ISU does not do a good job of developing players. I guess I do not know where I stand right now. I am leaning to a new coach right now. So many people say, "Who would want to come here?" Guess what, that is loser talk. We all know the guys that wanted to be here, Harbaugh, Briles, Kelly etc...We are a BCS school (even though we lose to FCS), even if this is a stepping stone after 2-3 seasons I am fine with that. Outside of a 1 in a billion 5-19 record coach getting hired away, ISU will be better positioned if a coach is hired away.

I love the people who say get someone else and if he leaves in 2 or 3 years so what. It will take a new coach alot more than 3 years to put his style of play/players in place and will probably have a losing record at that point. So lets say we get a new coach and after he has not won the Big 12 championship after say 4 years we let him go and get another coach and start the cycle all over again. So we still have a losing season but heck, we get a new coach to complain about. IMO we need to go after more JUCO players to help us with back-ups for our recruited players. K State had 22 jucos we have 12 we have recruited some decent players but many times they get thrown into the game before they are ready due to injuries to starters.

My favorite post was the guy complaining about blindly following Rhoads then offering up Sage as an option.

**** if I know...all I want to see is someone who can get us 6-7 + wins most years. Whoever can do that, that's who I want.
