Is this another "one and done" Kansas team?

Or Mothers - don't forget that Thomas Robertson's mother was an "admin" in the basketball offices. Why is there no NCAA investigation into that and the Manning situation?

Thomas Robinson's mother lived in DC and suddenly died while he was a sophomore at KU. It was all over the news. She never worked for KU.

They've had so many early outs over the years because they don't get the calls like they do in conf play. Look at their non-con record this year.

Higgins worked the San Diego St loss, DeRosa worked the VU loss and Whitehead and George worked the CU loss.

Those are all "Big 12 refs".

I think Higgins has worked most of KU's conference losses the last few years.

Wow this thread has really taken a turn for the worse. Now we have a poster making up stuff about players mothers and the mother that tragically died while the player was in school. Almost all ISU fans are awesome and this site is great but there's a couple that have monster chips on their shoulder and they continue to post on this thread.

Several of the NBA mock drafts have Embiid the overall #1 lottery draft pick and Wiggins either #1 #2 or #3 pick. Perry Ellis and Wayne Seldon (Both McDonald's All-American freshman on Kansas along with Wiggins) will go late 1st round. No other college basketball has this type of talent and that many 1st round picks going to the NBA since North Carolina two years ago with Barnes, Kendall Marshall, John Henson and Tyler Zeller.

Except the entire starting 5 of the Kentucky team that won it all a few yes ago were all drafted in the first rd. 1st time ever I believe.

Here is why some of you are wrong ... KU folds without Big 12 officials ... And more importantly they play shoddy when facing same sized skill set people. A good Big 10 team will tear them apart on a neutral court just like Michigan did last year.

KU has definitely had some memorable tournament losses. But this fact tends to skew people's judgment regarding KU's overall success in the tournament. In Bill Self's ten years at Kansas, we have made it to at least the Elite 8 five times (with 2 Final Fours, and 1 NC). Only three times have we not made it to at least the Sweet 16. I doubt there are more than a couple of coaches that have won more tournament games over the past 10 years.

The idea that KU struggles in the tournament because of a difference in officiating is just silly. Last year, KU went 14-4 in the Big 12 regular season. We had 325 fouls against us and 343 fouls called against our opponents. So for every foul against KU, there were 1.05 fouls called against KU's opponent. Over our last 18 NCCA tournament games (which includes the 5 tournaments after our NC), KU has gone 13-5. There have been 280 fouls called against KU and 312 fouls called against KU's opponents. This comes out to 1.11 fouls against our opponents for every foul called against KU.

If the tournament started tomorrow, I wouldn't pick KU to make to the Final Four. But I think we probably have the highest ceiling of any team out there, and I expect us to continue to improve and be a Final Four caliber team by the end of the year. As of right now, counting only conference games, KU is 1st in the conference in FG% (54%), 1st in 3pt% (41%), 1st in blocked shots (5.86), 1st in assists, and 1st in rebounding margin (+9.6). Until our game with Iowa State last night, we were also 1st in FG% defense. However, KU is 9th in the conference in turnover margin (-3.86). For KU to go to the next level and compete for a national championship, we need to start creating as many turnovers as we commit.

This thread mentions: our 1st round loss as a #2 seed, Kansas dominance, Harrison Barnes, Hinrich, Collison, Roy Williams, last years games vs KU, a picture of Bill and a ref yucking it up. It may as well be titled "Cyclone Nightmares". I may as well cap it off: Mateen Cleaves

Yet I can't type **** KU without asterisks showing up....:realmad:

C'mon mods, set this thread on fire already.

I think they win the national title. I think by end of year they will be as dominant as Kentucky was a couple years ago.

Actually it is pathetic ... We are talking about an NBA farm team year in and out.
That wasn't what I was arguing. I was arguing that an elite 8 appearance is not an early out and neither is a sweet sixteen. I guess you can think what Kansas has done under Self is pathetic, but you would be a moron. The guy has won the Big 12 almost every year he has been here and has had multiple Big 12 tournament championships and a National Title. Even with all that talent, it is still hard to win the NCAA when competing against several teams that are just as talented.

LOL this is one of the more laughable things I've read in awhile. They're both snake oil salesmen. Don't believe me? Well I'm not the only one that thinks so....

Missouri Tigers Athletics :: Mizzou College Sports :: TigerBoard.com :: Post 30,000 - ku Off the Court History under Self

LOL, when it comes to Bill Self, nobody is less capable of rational discussion than Illinois and MU fans.

Sidenote: 15 years ago MU was deciding on their next head coach. They had it narrowed it down to two coaches: Quin Snyder and Bill Self. Making a decision only MU could make, the Tigers picked Quin Snyder. Three years later Bill Self arrived in Lawrence.

This sounds like a sour grapes thread. Personally, after we are done with them, I'd love to see a Big 12 team win it all. I'll be rooting for them to do just that if ISU does not. Same goes for any other Big 12 team in the tournament.

I hate when people do this. It has no reflection on ISU if KU wins the title. But it does give KU more recruiting power. I will root for KU to lose to a 16 seed.

Exactly ... KU plays at a competitive advantage in basketball. Personally, I hope another UNI smacks them down in the tourney. I detest their smug fans and Mickey d pros.

Yeah, cause Illini and Tiger fans know nothing about Bill $elf. Take your blue shades off, he pulled the same shyt at Illinois as he's done at Kansas but on a smaller scale. Kansas wasn't the only reason why he left Illinois.

Could you also tell me which of those events aren't true?

Fijitiger's conspiracy theories make Alex Jones blush. But hey, let's listen to a guy who brushes aside his school's willingness to let a cocaine dealer travel with the team.
