LUNARDI has us at a 9 and iowa at a 7????? How?!?! Am I missing something?

Maybe he's just projecting that because he thinks Iowa has their easy part of the schedule coming up (2 w/Nebr, payback to Rutgers, can prob beat Mich at least once, and maybe Northwestern and Mich St at home) where we are floundering. But yeah, they don't have many quality wins except Ind/Virg. Not sure how they get a '7' tho.

Everyone needs to come to accept that there is a pretty good chance Iowa makes the tourney and we don’t. Despite how Iowa has no quality wins. They’re gonna be in.
Yep this is where us bragging about how tough the Big 12 is top to bottom is going to end up biting us. Iowa's resume is complete garbage BUT they are going to have the offensive metrics and enough wins in their favor to get in. Because to this day, these guys can't seem to get past a team's number of wins sometimes. Iowa honestly has no business being a 7 seed or even in the tournament, as they have not shown they can beat anyone that is a tourney-level team. But they are going to pile up enough conference wins where it looks impressive despite the bottom of the Big Ten being utter garbage.

For reference, for how bad we have looked, we just obliterated one of the SEC's bottom teams just a short time ago. We do not have that type of team in the Big 12 to feast on and have a much better conference record. Maryland, Minnesota and Nebraska alone would help us with the wins to make our conference record look more palatable. Now in saying that, zero excuse to lose ANY of the remaining home games, as they are all very winnable.

Yeah this is where I am at right now. The wheels have come off for us in conference play. All the quad 1 wins aren't going to be enough to overcome our overall record. I'm afraid we end up missing the tourney.

The way we are playing now I wouldn't want to see us play in the tourney. I don't think we are a tourney worthy team even though our resume still shows we are, if the season ended today. Maybe there's a switch that can flip but I don't think we have the horses.

I'd love to see this team in the tourney. What are people smoking?

We know that history shows that playing well prior doesn't mean anything either, right?

They've worked their assess off. More basketball for them would be great.

It's a figure of speech. I'd be super happy for them and all the fans. They are unwatchable, right now, but a "new" opponent could be the elixir.

Now that part is really stupid just on the fact that in year's past, quality wins counted more vs. conference record.

People that think Iowa is going to pile up wins now because of their schedule are in for a surprise. They'll definitely lose at Maryland tomorrow and I wouldn't be surprised if Nebraska gets them in Lincoln.
I see at least 4 more regular season losses and a blowout on the Big 10 tourney.

I just looked at their schedule

@Illinois, @Ohio State, @ Michigan are automatic losses (0-3)
Probably split @Maryland, @Nebraska (1-1)
Probably split Michigan, Michigan State (1-1)
Auotmatic wins Nebraska, Northwestern (2-0)

That puts them at a 4-5 finish, overall 19-12(9-11), most likely win a Big 10 tourney game, then get blown out by Purude or Illinois in 2nd round.

That puts them at 20-13, with their best wins the entire year against Indiana and one of the Michigan schools in Iowa City.

That's an NIT resume if you ask me. One thing to watch though is if Virginia keeps moving up, that will help their profile.

It’s over now. We need to win out at home to have a chance and I just don’t see it. Can’t see us getting another road win with who’s left.

eh I tend to agree with blum from the podcast last sunday..

we had 8 games left counting last night. go 4-4 and you're probably in the tourney.

would be 7-11 in conference.

we win out at home (kstate, oklahoma, wvu, okst) and we should be fine. steal one at TCU or at kstate and that would help.

Agree, in the end you have to win games and we are not.

I'm not saying that couldn't happen, but the way they've been playing they could also lose out. I hope TJ pulls the right levers and we just see some righting of the ship. Even if they miss and get NIT.
