Yeah, that totally explains losing those games to teams from lower conferences\divisions like UNI\NDSU\Tulsa or other teams that were in the same realignment boat like Kansas

Who has ever said that excuses losing to uni. I can kind of forgive ndsu, because they are dynasty at that level and have beaten better teams than us during their run.

We played two bad bowl games with time to prepare. That's also on this staff.

But you have the guys that make up your Jr and Sr classes that are supposed to be your leaders as upper class men, who would not have ever ended up here had we had a leg to stand on with realignment.

Even though the drizzlers mock it now, the Nebraska locker room speech could have been huge for this staff when they went out to recruit that second year, plus they had a bowl win to sell.

Then came the conference shuffle, and the ONLY mentions Iowa State received were that we would lose our spot. I'm sure this site was abuzz with all of that, I should go to the archives to look maybe you should too.

We survive that, miss back to back wins over Nebraska, and a bowl because the holder didn't set his feet on a two point fake xp. But it was exciting at least. The year ended flat because A A got hurt and we had nothing for mizzu.

A few weeks later, Doug Gottlieb breaks A $ M's and mizzu jabbing leaving. And another recruiting season is gone just like that.

Those are body blows schools like Iowa State aren't built to take.

You're missing the point of his schtick. Everything about ISU football is bad, has always been bad, and always will be, so no one should complain about it, especially the fans, since we're the biggest part of the problem.

I believe I've just summarized hundreds of his posts.

Lol Erik I always thought of you as one more intelligent posters on here. But you apparently read like UNI guy

Never said don't complain. Just know what the **** you're talking about before complaining. And, most importantly, be willing to do what is necessary to remove the problems that have caused the issue.

name all the successful coaches we have had at Iowa State in the last 35 years.
Do you understand that Rhoads will be the only coach in the history of BCS coaches to come back after losing back to back games to FCS schools. Let that sink in, you think ISU does not have patience, he will be the only one ever. Ever...ever.

Good post

But you left out having two full recruiting classes crippled by realignment.

This crap bothers me. KSU, Baylor and OSU really did not seem affected by this. Tech was only affected because of poor coaching hires. (Sounds familiar!)

I've come to the conclusion that cylove is either Paul Rhoads or a close relative. He spreads more rainbows than a box of Lucky Charms.

Baylor is in Texas, and OSU was pretty safe because of OU. KSU was probably closest to ISU in butt-clenching, but they had Kansas (basketball at least important) and ****...Snyder makes his teams on walk-ons and jucos anyway.

What scares me is if Paul Rhoads can't win at ISU, who can? Surely anyone else who has any ounce of success will leave as soon as they can for a better job.

Weird to think after the 2011 season, people here were worried Rhoads would get plucked to a larger program. Things change with the wind in college football.

What is weird is that after the 2011 season, people actually thought Rhoads was a decent coach.

What made-up BS. Please back up your claim by linking just one quote - ONE - from a prospective recruit saying that he wanted to be a Cyclone, but "I just wasn't sure if they would be in a big-time conference or not."
