Your pretty naive aren't you. Microsoft has still been sending out XP updates since they realized lots of business' still use the software. If your not a moron, run a good anti-virus and maleware program its fine.
Was just going to ask. Who pulled the trigger already and what do you think?
I have been having issues getting the "Get Windows 10 App" to appear on my laptop. Everything I have read shows that I meet the requirements and I have updated all of the necessary packages. I am hoping that the app will appear now since it is launch day.
I have the Windows 10 notification that was sent out a month ago on my laptop...what is the next step? Just sit and wait? I have my laptop on this morning but haven't seen anything about updating yet.
You mean the e-card things, right? From that one website?
... We might not be on the same wavelength, here.
Just in case you can't get Windows 10 to download.

I did this and it worked perfectly. Took about 1.5 hours to download/install the x64 version to my surface.

Trying this method now...so did you use your product key that came with your machine?

If you already have an OS installed, you won't need a product key.
At first the notification (about a month ago) said my BIOS wasn't supported? Then a week later the notification told me I was all set to go and just had to wait until July 29th. Not sure what changed...but as of this post I still haven't seen anything on my notebook that says 10 is downloading or ready to be installed. The 10 notification indicator is still there though.

It looks like after doing the update you can do a clean install of Win10 anytime after that and it's still free. I haven't updated yet so I haven't had a chance to try it. I'm planning on doing it though.Cool...thanks! I was considering doing a clean install...but decided to go with the update instead. Again, thanks!
