ISU needs a win badly. They're a tough team but eventually these close losses wear on a group.
SATURDAY BABY!!!! I'm still believing!!

It used to be the way you have it laid out. They can in fact initiate review without a common foul whistled now.
I'll be there. Need the win badlySATURDAY BABY!!!! I'm still believing!!
We got the big screw job by the zebras at the phog but at the end should have never let the Kansas player penetrate the paint for a somewhat easy shot I feel we should have put more pressure on them for that last possession
It's tough. Even the slightest of bumps was resulting in a foul in favor of KU tonight. Especially in the final 5We got the big screw job by the zebras at the phog but at the end should have never let the Kansas player penetrate the paint for a somewhat easy shot I feel we should have put more pressure on them for that last possession
We played Jones down to 24 seconds and if FT's were big concern he would have been pulled after Caleb's shot.
I doubt Jones would have touched the ball if he was in at end. Jaz has a jump shot in case the half court offense broke down. I'm sure staff was expecting a good shot to happen closer to clock expiring.
But we scored early and missed having a shot blocker when Harris drove for winning bucket.
IMO TJ wants to keep his team focussed on what is controllable. By screaming at the officials he's putting his energy other than on his guys during TO's, etc.
I don‘t think the issue is whether or not the play can be reviewed. The real issue is, how can three officials miss that obvious of a call in the first place? So here's the thing, if you can go back to review the difference between 2 and 3 points. Why can't you review the difference between 0 and 2 points? Seems really illogical.
This is what needs answered in my book. Just like you cannot review a play to determine if basket interference occurred if not originally called, you cannot review a play to determine if a foul occurred.
There was no foul called on Jones during the course of normal game play. I don’t think the rule says an official can stop play and review to determine if a foul (common or flagrant) occurred in the past. If a foul is called, that foul call can be reviewed to see if it should be upgraded to flagrant (1 or 2), remain common OR be called a flop (flagrant the other way), but a foul has to be called first.
Please correct me if I’m wrong, but that is my understanding of the rule, and that didn’t happen on the Jones Flagrant 1. The officials, in that moment, used replay to determine if a foul occurred, called one AND upgraded it to Flagrant after a review.
The Irish and German parts of me are continually at odds...![]()
I get that but sometimes as a coach. You have to show your players that you will fight just as hard for them as they are fighting on the court.
He was pulled in the first half after his second foul. Beyond that, I got nuthin'.I thought Jones played well, but still wonder why GC only played 14 minutes. Was he sick or did TJ just like how RJ was playing?
Does anyone remember where bad calls gave us a win?
Wrong in so many ways.they played a part, but I reckon had we made a couple other shots we probably would have won too.
Can’t put the game in the refs hands. Probably shouldn’t let air ball shoot the last shot of the game either
Beyond the officiating stuff ... this season is beginning to remind me of 2012-13.
That involves positive and not-quite-so-positive aspects.
Mostly positive. Sometimes.
