Anyone notice Iowa's going after another one of our commits?

Hawk fans should know FCS talent quite well. It's half of their players taking the field for them this year.
most years. This is the school that probably starts the most walk-ons in the country, they built their program on walk-ons, yet they constantly look down on.... walk-ons.
Let's not get into revisionist history here. Chizik was well known for his preference of avoiding Iowa HS talent, but he was NOT losing kids he offered to the iowa walk-on program. I mean, if that's the case, are you saying that iowa didn't have a spot on the walk-on roster for guys like Lenz and McDonough? Lichtenburg? Boffeli, who was committed to ISU before Chizik bailed? Funny how he wasn't good enough to be a walk-on at iowa yet he got a full ride when Chizik left.
Truth is, Chizik didn't work hard enough to pick out the Iowa kids that could contribute. They could have EASILY had Van Sloten, who was a legacy, but they picked Lichtenburg instead of taking them both. Chizik didn't have the connection in-state to grab Scherff or either of the Hoch brothers. And when Chizik went head to head against iowa for a recruit, he lost. But you are wrong if you are saying that a kid picked walking on at iowa over a full ride from ISU. That happens (for both iowa and ISU) vs UNI, but for ISU vs iowa, it hasn't happened for as long as I've followed recruiting.
Not sure the program was built on walk-ons. You may want to check those facts again.
Nothing for Cyclones to freak out about. We're constantly at war in recruiting/poaching. Tubby @ TTech has been a thorn over this most recently, hasn't he? Better get used to it now with TCU, too. Was happening anyways - Stansly Maponga was one the Chiz crew was fighting with TCU over.
Hawk fans are more nervous than ever, & rightly so. Their coordinators are done for - unless they win out (please win out!). Then, their mediocrity of a program will be hidden by a fan base that follows them to the B1G affiliated bowl even though other conference teams have a better in-conference record and should be there in their stead - Northwestern. ISU on the rise led by Coach Rhoads is definitely a threat. Another threat is adding Nebraska to the B1G. Pickings will not be easy for Fearants in Iowa & contiguous States.
We offer Mr. Bevins, he commits. Now he's visiting Iowa. So what. Maybe he changes his mind and ends up at Iowa. If so, good luck (& I really mean that), and so what. We get another recruit. He may go and have a great time, but stay with the good guys. I'm sure as a 17-19 year old HS football player, a visit to a D1 school on a game day would not be an enjoyable event darn near anywhere.
Tajarvis Fuller (S out of Florida) is apparently planning a visit to Ames, and he is a commit right now to Illinois. It is what it is.

This is a great point. I don't look down on Iowa for this. I more look negatively on the kid. If you aren't ready to commit, then don't commit, it's that simple.

iowa goes after those who are verbally committed elsewhere more often than not because they strike out on their "top" recruits. they offer iowa kids as a backup plan when they miss on other "better" recruits. they always have. its gotten different now because kids are starting to WANT to play for Rhoads and it kills iowa fans. they see our program rising while theirs remains stagnant.
Have you actually looked at recruiting the last two years? You are completely wrong. We finished #30 in the team rankings last year, and this year alone we already have 2 four stars. Just because you beat us in triple OT this year, doesn't mean we are stagnant and you guys are on the rise. It means that you are better this year.
Sweet, but where are these players at? They sure as hell aren't on the depth chart. Iowa has 10 walk-ons on the 2 deep, you can brag all you want but where are these recruits ending up? Transferring? Getting beat out? Hospital beds? Where? No Hawk fan can answer that, but if I am a Hawk fan it would worry the hell out of me, you don't win in college football with an insane number of walk-ons. You can recruit until you are blue in the face but if they don't get on the field what good are they?

And if by stagnant, you mean "staying at a competitive level, and every once in a while competing for Big Ten titles and BCS bowls", you are absolutely correct. And I'm OK with that.
