Why the vitriol? Rhoads didn't lie, cheat, or steal. He worked tirelessly to get the job done. He gave his best every single day. He treated everyone with courtesy and respect. He deserves the same. No reason to hate on the man. It just didn't work.
Time to grow up.
That's great.
Yes, he didn't lie, cheat, or steal, treated people with courtesy and respect. But at the end of the day, this is a business, and the measurement of performance is based on how many games you win, not how nice of a guy you are.
And I am extremely contentious about the point that "he did his best every day." He certainly didn't give his best yesterday. Or last week. Or much in the last three years that saw his teams go 8-27. He was too busy celebrating instead of securing victories, letting laminated pieces of paper coach for him, not knowing what down it was, telling the fans that his QB shouldn't be throwing TD passes, and generally throwing every player possible under the bus at the postgame press conference instead of being a man and taking responsibility for his own shortcomings.
Perhaps it's you that should grow up and stop crying your crocodile tears about a guy that was being paid a ton of money to fail at his job.
