I don't think that he deserved to be fired at that point, but Pollard definitely could have nudged him toward Alabama. I think that Hoiberg was available at that time. The problem was that it seemed like the relationship between FH and JP had soured a little, so Pollard doubled down on Prohm, which was a big mistake. What's done is done I guess.
One thing Prohm has going for him is that Murray is home. Just like TJ, when you are at a place that you know and believe in, selling to recruits has to be easier. He also has a good history with PGs and so does Murray St, so getting that piece shouldn't be super difficult for him. I think his connections down there plus a step up in conferences should help him recruit. He's going to have to hit the portal pretty hard this year, but being at a location with a lot of surrounding talent, he should have a chance to hit the ground running.
